I don't like being called silly, stupid or a parasite for that matter, and doubt anyone else would.
You can object to posters opinions without being objectionable.
Then the solution is not to make silly, stupid remarks.
You would do well to reflect on the tone and content of your first post and see if it meets the criteria of not "being objectionable"!
You also might like to point out where you have been called a 'parasite'; or even where that word is used!
You still haven't grasped the point of my post have you?0 -

Yes Stphn...for low users, but like the idea of repeated cashbacks, so maybe would work second and third time.
Anyway I gave up, opted to concentrate instead on super insulation and careful thought about consumption. That way any gain is permanent and less reliant on the suppliers.0 -

Your attitude seems to be that should your view and mine differ, you will just be rude, and resort to calling me "silly" and "stupid" (provocative remarks in any situation) instead of arguing your point, which would give us all something to discuss
Just calling a contributor to the discussion names by way of "discussion",
together with provocative comments like "you still haven't grasped the point of my post have you?"merely shows the rest of us the strength of your argument, as well as giving us an insight into your personality.0 -
I'm with Cardew on this one.
However, if people are determined to switch regularly just for the cashback, maybe we should ALL do the same and watch prices rocket for everybody. It is a stupid parasitic system.
GGThere are 10 types of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those that don't.0 -

OK lets look at it this way - If the government decided tomorrow that all comparison sites and cashback sites were to stop, would we see our bills going down?
I think not. That money would be spent in other ways, probably just a lot more advertising. So if you enjoy a load of adverts for Npower/BG etc between your favorite TV shows then it would be right up your street!
Talking of streets, I bet a lot of the money would go on extra door knockers to drum up the extra business they would usually get from switching services.
Prices are going up all the time. Its not down to switching sites and cashback sites.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -

Just so we get this correct and in context, this is what you wrote(that I found objectionable)
Your points are immaterial to the visitors here:
1) This site is for moneysavers. It makes no difference to moneysavers whether or not comparison networks are a source of income for Martin.
2) Again, whether or not a site like quidco is parasitic is again not the slightest concern to moneysavers. However you chose to name quidco, which is a co-operative venture. So abusing them with name calling also means you abuse their moneysaving members!
Firstly you appoint yourself as spokesperson for all money-savers. Note: not your opinion of my points, but dismissing my points as immaterial to all visitors and of no concern to moneysavers.
Secondly you accuse me of name calling and abuse – which is totally wrong, stupid, silly!
Thirdly you wrongly accuse me of calling you a parasite.
Fourthly, despite it being spelt out why Quidco etc increase prices for all of us, you proclaim, on their behalf, that it is of not of the slightest concern to money-savers
Your initial post was objectionable, as well as completely missing the point, and my reply mild in comparison.
Your insight into my character hopefully might appreciate that I sometimes reply to rude, stupid and silly posts!0 -
If people use quidco etc and churn away switching suppliers they will save money. Which is what this forum is for.
Pontificating why we shouldn't is pointless in the context of this forum.0 -

Nobody in this thead has suggested people shouldn't churn; in fact I stated at the beginning:Whilst not being critical of you personally for taking advantage of a crazy system,
I am critical of a system that encourages people to churn with IMO the rest of us paying extra because of that system.0 -

I thought you were on a fixed deal with BG cardew?
So how can our switching be affecting your prices?Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0
