Thought of a new moneysaving tip. With all the BOGOF offers in the supermarket. I go in & pick up all the second (ie free) items. I only want one anyway so I'll have the free one!!

(Sorry get the impression some peeps are thinking all these tips are serious or is it me?)

    :rotfl::rotfl:

Dont forget the 20% extra free ones just drink/eat the 20% in the store!

And for the work thing, where I use to work if you had a slight bit of stubble (because you needed to be clean shaven) they gave you a free disposable shaver to have a shave with! lol!

(Im sure most people know its mostly jokes)

I remove loose skin from onions  not sure what that saves me!I also take chunky bit of bananas or pick up loose ones!Old habits die hard.

But on a serious note I remember having to take kids to libray to keep warm of an afternoon and only being able to put fire on for 2 hours on one of coldest days i'll ever remember, going to bed soon as it got dark as no money for electric. No fault of my own just loans my EX husband kept taking out induced poverty.Never ever would wish that on anyone. But I'm conscious of money and careful but we never go without anymore now hes gone.

Worryingly I used to take youngest to sainsbury to change her nappy and nab odd bit ofd loo roll as we couldnt afford that and a tin of beans

Food, heating and food prices are a worry for the poorest

Normally the supermarkets don't mind if you test one grape, you could always keep returning to the shop and test enough to make a small bunch over a day?

my mum always use to test the grapes even if she wasnt buying them most weeks, and did the onion skin thing, I think war children were bought up that way. I think possibly habits get passed on too if I didnt buy value onions prepacked I might do the same.

Beware inflations set to rise again... and keep going up. Im just glad I live in birmingham where you can find bargains better than most towns.

One slight problem, you'll need to bleach it more!

You could line it with the free carrier bags they provide and put it in the dog waste bins! lol

    Thats just turned me green!

Had a free lunch today!I was hungry whilst shopping in Morrisons and some lovely quiche had been sliced and put on sticks on the deli counter. I scoffed 5 pieces!

Maybe I should of found some grapes for pud and tested those!
  • Another top tip - when you invite friends over to your home, tell them to go to the toilet before they get to yours. This will stop them from using up your toilet paper and soap.

When my FIL comes over I hide the toilet roll - I think he wraps it around his arm and manouvres the whole thing around, down there.

He always seems to need to 'go' when he's at ours, and we only live in a small flat - smells don't just disappear!
  • Don't joke about it - i've known people who say they've taken a bag into the toilet at the pub and had a few toilet rolls!
