Hi! Can anyone advise what I can put into a beef curry with CQ's base sauce to make a yummy beef curry? Nothing too hot though as it's for littlies! Thanks

    Hi snowedunderitall,

The korma recipe in the first post on this thread might be mild enough, but if I remember correctly your children are quite young so they may prefer a fruity curry instead. They might enjoy this Annabel Karmel curry....just substitute the chicken with beef.

  • Hi Curry Queen,

Thanks for the basic recipe ingredients! I have just cut up and prepared all the ingredients - however I am cooking it in a slightly different way.

I just bunged all the ingredients in the slow cooker and am going to cook on HIGH for about 4 hours and then turn to low and leave on until the morning and then blitz it all up in my smoothie maker which has been excellent for soups etc.

I have absolutely no idea if this method is going to work!! The worst that could happen is that I will have wasted about £1.50 as that is all the onions, garlic and ginger cost me and had the spices in the cupboard. And my place will be stunk out by curry!!

I will update the results whether successful or not - wish me luck! :o
  • Hi there Curry Queen! Thanks so much for posting these recipe's! they are great. have been using them for a while now. I don;t suppose anyone has a great Madras recipe? or an authentic Vindaloo with potatoes in it? My huby and I have been eating these from the takeaway recently (building up our hot tastes!) I would love to have a recipe that tastes the same to save me some £ !!!!! Thanks everyone!
  • Update on trying it the slow cooker way!!

Woke up to a disgusting smell - so bad had to take the crockpot out to the garage and completey fumigate the kitchen.

It did not work this way at all, it may have been because I added the turmeric at the early stage.

I will try the proper way next time - this was a big FAILURE!! lol

My mum's bought a slow cooker, and has left me this morning with a load of chicken breasts to make a curry  Would this work in the slow cooker?? I know somebody has tried making the sauce earlier on but I was just gonna bung it all in together. Bad idea?

I am having trouble finding any recipes!
