I dont make the marzipan I just use shop bought but here is the complete recipe is you fancy giving it a try

Thank you for that!! Will have to try and fit the time to add this to my trying to survive xmas this year!! if it turns out well, I know I would be hubby's fav person :rotfl: At least would keep his tummy very happy.

Just made another batch of spiced apple and blackberry jam, so now have just over 20 jars of various jams. Going to try my hand at chutney tonight....I think! Could not think of anything else to take up my lunch hour time lol, so jam it was!

Yes, the knob of butter does help the jam from foaming up as much as normal.

    kath xx

Mr T have jam sugar in 1kg bags (67p) -- "From the Baking/Preserving Sugar shelf" according to their website, which corresponds with where I'm sure I've seen it in the larger of our local stores.

You beat me to it! I also get jam sugar in the normal sugar aisle at Asda. I know you can use lemon juice as well with plain sugar, but in all honesty I really dont know the equivalent on how much lemon juice.

I drive my hubby mad -- I refuse to [STRIKE]throw away[/STRIKE] recycle any decent glass jars and lids. I have spotted in the last few weeks I've gained the lids only for 2 coffee jars (200g), so he's obviously managed to get the jars out without me seeing :(

  • while your getting the jam sugar you could pick up the cheap curry sauce(5p) and use the jars from it:D :D:D:D cheaper than buying jars
