AM reading comments out to her & she's laughing even more & ready "for another ear erection"...my my, I thought she was so innocent when I met her! All this talk of bushes soon put paid to that particular myth! "eeew....theres something coming out of his mouth"..."is it his tongue?".. I wonder

"His nose that was pink has gone white"..."He's gone quite pale (the colour of Weezl perhaps?). Now drying his skin off ready for a rub...Mr piggy will have a mix of 1 heaped tsp salt, flat tsp chilli, 75ml of veg oil, 2 heaped tsp black pepper & 7 tsp brown sugar but no garlic "cos I dont want him to be too garlicky"...

We put a woodburning stove in a couple of years ago, and it's fab. It replaced a very small open fire, and stoves are way more efficient. We get (mostly) free wood- ask around. Timber merchants and importers may have off cuts they're glad to get rid of and occasionally there's some on freecycle.
I also go 'wooding' on dog walks, collect fir cones, make fire lighters out of loo rolls and paper, save 'cork' corks for firelighters and dry sweetcorn cobs! (I discovered they sell them as BBQ fuel on the continent, so now we eat them, the hens peck the rest off and then I dry them and put them in the log basket. :D )

Stoves are not cheap to install, cost depends on whether you already have a suitable flue as well as size etc, but we use it a lot and don't put the heating on now until about November. We have oil heating and we use about 1 tank a year. Most of our friends use at least 2 pa. :money:

PS Sorry for confusion over sausages. I didn't want you to waste money if you were buying posh sausages that were still made with meat from intensively farmed animals. But your not, so that's ok!

Can pallets be burned too we have access to loads but not sure about the quality for burning

We have woodland nearby so gathering shouldn't be a problem do pine cones smell nice when burned ??

Shaz pinecones smell lovely when burned & from memory they also pop so make sure you have a fire guard! Re the palletts I would think they would possibly be good for kindling as theyre quite fast burning although dont have much experience TBH! Sure lucky pepys with log burning can assist!
I got (oo foil hats being made for his ears) my yog maker this am (still ISOM here BTW!) and will try some later! Got plain live yog his am and semi skimmed milk so hope these ok...Piggy going in the oven but shelves being adjusted cos his ears are too tall!
