Question for those who've made the 'no-knead' bread......
Just double checked the instructions for later today, and I see it says to split between 4 loaf tins. If I split between 3 is it likely to 'flop' over the sides of the tins?
We normally have tall loaves when we have HM, 'cos I have a large bread machine. And even when we buy bread we always get the larger/tall loaves...... So I know the blokes aren't going to be mad keen on 'short' slices

good idea to split between 3 tins, that's what the original recipe did. I changed it to 4 when I realised my loaves raised the same amount and the cost was lower per slice! But you may well prefer making it the proper way!:D
And very many congratulations to growingafamily! Well done on so admirably living up to your username!
HMKN, you've done so well! Well done;), what a great earning- £70, that's a lot of ice creams, but not much petrol alas...

no worries

Shaz you asked me a while back about my Asda trip, so I thought I'd give a spending update, since I last posted what I'd bought, I've added the following to my spends:
2x 1 kg frozen sweetcorn £1.28
3 x bags sugar snaps £0.30
bacon £1.58
milk 4 litres £2.00
5 flour 1x Wm 2x pln 2x self-r £1.95
12 cans spinach £2.40
total £9.51
Bacon was used for the piggy pies, and the sugar snaps got devoured over the weekend, 10p a bag- great whoopsie!:money: But everything else is intact.
Now have built up a stash of enough flour and yeast to make 40 loaves of bread, so that'll do us til first week in October by my reckoning. ( we use 1 loaf every 1.5 days!):T
Also have made and frozen all the evening meals til the 25th August.:o:D
We're staying away from home tonight at a friends, so I'm making myself 2 packed lunches for the 2 days. They contain rice, but I reckon it'll be ok, as we have a microwave at work and I'll be able to nuke it to within an inch of its life!
Growingafamily, is your freezer full of your Mum's liver casserole now?;)
