    Happy Canada Day to all:j

Not a good start for me to be honest.....

OH came home from work last night after being told that his workplace is being put on "reduced hours" for the next eight weeks to save money.

Will will end up losing about £250-300 a month from the cut backs.

Having no Payment Protection insurance I am worried incase the "R" word is coming although they have said that OH job is not at risk. Should I look into PPI for the Mortgage? I have had a quick look and it is around £25-30 a month for unemployment cover only and you cant claim in the first 6 months or be aware that your job may not be safe.............really worried tod

May have to plod on with the old business after all :undecided

Hugs to all that need them (giving myself a hug too) :o

Louise, what does your hubby do? Is he likely to be unemployed for long? (i know, stupid question really! how would you know!) but i mean what is employment situation like in your area and in his field of expertise?

I don't know enough about these things, as don't even have a mortgage (we rent, not mortgage free!), but i know you are fabulously clever and will do the right thing for you n yours.

    homework, moi? erm......
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....

    Hey Canunklehead! You HOOSER!
    lol

I shall partake in a Molson with you tonight and perhaps see if I can find some cheese curds somewhere and have poutine for tea tonight!

Hi..I'm more a Sleeman's/Upper Canada kind of chick but will make do with the 'foreign brews' as I've developed a taste for 'real ales'. Steak and potato salad for dinner tonight. Mmmmmm....cheese curds...that takes me back (grew up in the E. Ontario cheese belt and could get them squiggy warm from the local cheddar factory). To the Great White North's 141st birthday and Canucks everywhere:bdaycake:
