  • Really wanted to go this last day of month without buying anything but ran out of loo roll so looks like I will have to go to the shop after all. Why is it when we dont want to spend we end up having to. Guess I could always help myself to extra tissue from college to just see today and end of this month through. will have to think about this.

  • Will this thread be finishing today, there is no sign of Nyk this morning, has she been out partying with Princess Anne all night? There was a big scandal on TV last night about someone nicking one of her gloves, then the rain came on and a lady ran out of the crowd, to the rescue with an ebid umbrella................... maybe that lady got rewarded with a royal dinner or something....................
  • Hello everyone hope you are all well. Loving the royal prescence on this thread! I didn't know Nyk was so well connected ;-)

Thanks Marru, Bails & BB for the good wishes regarding the dogs. I am feeling so much more posititve that if we continue to put the effort in with them, things will be so much better for them and us. Will keep you all posted on the progress.

Did the last of the months shopping last night and came in under budget again yey. Finally might be drumming it into Dh that we cannot just fritter away money on food we don't need. Hoping for a NSD today just waiting for my mother in law to pop in with some delicious home made soup for my lunch (bless her) she usually makes me a big pot which lasts a few days so hopefully thats my lunches sorted all week. The van is going in tomorrow for its MOT and wheel bearing so please keep your fingers crossed that it doesn't need anything else doing! xxx

  • Big Ears,.

Who are you calling big ears, horse face?

What is this news of a new thread opening? I have not been invited to open any new thread. I do so love using my giant ribbon-cutting scissors.

Ones frugal tip of the day to help you paupers: if one squishes ones lavatory roll, then ones mother cannot unecessary unravel reams of the stuff when she comes to visit. She has a terrible habit of doing so, and as you all know I always insist upon using blue velvet, which is apparenlty a costly brand of lavatory tissue.

    Ahoyahoy , as you were

Good afternoon to one and all, I must apologise for my late appearance but last night's dinner party ran on a little late. The traffic in the skies between here and Falkirk was awful, especially whilst crossing the central belt where many insist on keeping racing pigeons. Hmm... the dear Queen, herself, has racing pigeons in her Royal lofts. My faith in the Royal Mail has slightly diminished since hearing about this! Anyway, dinner was delicious and it was very gracious of them to even consider my attending. Anne has now gone to visit Kinloss Abbey in Fife.

So, it's the final day of part 3, which can mean only one thing - a brand new thread starting tomorrow! :j Don't feel downhearted about spending; I was so determined not to go over the £3000 mark before 1st October, yet overspend still crept up and bit me on the *um! It wasn't too savage a bite, I mean it wasn't like 'Dotty' in Windsor Great Park or anything, that cost HRH £500! :rotfl:

This morning I was busy checking the old computer and making sure everything was in order before it was collected. The freecycler arrived bang on time and the old PC behaved beautifully, so I hope she's happy with her freebie.

Tonight, I am switching on another storage heater. I NEED to, it is just too cold to go without any longer.

Good luck to anyone who also does my eBid challenge, I need to see how the results of that are doing and get them organised for tomorrow as well :) I didn't do too well in that, I have only bought & sold 8 bargains and a couple of them were for work. :rotfl:

Skint Lynne - I restart the 4k challenge threads each quarter, as they get too long and MSE prefer not to have more that 1000 posts per thread. They tend to start deleting anything that goes off topic to make it easier to keep up with the relevant bits (see grocery thread for example of that debate). So, tomorrow will see the 4th quarter begin with a brand new thread. I transfer post one so we don't lose it, though, so don't worry, just keep an eye open for the new one tomorrow. I'll add a link to it from here so nobody gets lost.

I'm still on here but a few have started posting on the new thread. If it's relevant to here, like end of month round ups, then post here untilo this one gets closed. I am hoping to get my SOA completed and posted here this afternoon before the thread gets shut. :)
