OK, now I need to get serious and have a look at what I actually did get done today. First thing this morning, we had a trip to the estate agents, still no news there but they assure us that we SHOULD hear something by the end of this week. Came out of there and then noticed that the old chemist shop has turned into Boots! :j How up-market are we becoming?!! That means I can start claiming Boots vouchers when I see them!
Popped into Semi-chem and ended up spending £8.97 on gifts and then went into pound shop and bought a new sweeping brush, which cost £1.50!
I don't know what pound shops are going to do once they completely run out of items to sell and it has made me think... perhaps there's a niche market there, for homemade items that can be sold by us to them for, say, 50p each and they, in turn, retail at £1. It could be more profitable that having to change their shop names, that's for sure.
Overall spend for today has been £10.47, which means I have just ever so slightly gone over my average as the month draws to a close. Grand total spend to date = £3002.10 (only £2.10 over my budget to 1st October). Must update signature to reflect "naughty" spends as the gifts were mostly for ourselves to celebrate getting this far with househunting.I am really hoping that it is going to be a case of third time lucky after missing out on the last two we went after. I'm also hoping that I can keep up the momentum with the free clicks and decluttering. I have someone coming tomorrow morning to collect the tempremental old computer that I listed on Freecycle last night - one more space cleared. :T And one more bid in for an item I listed on eBid. I have also introduced OH2B to cashback and he is now well and truly hooked! His car insurance is due soon so he compared via cashback site and was impressed that he clocked up a few pence just for that. He was even more impressed when I pointed out that one of the cheapests quotes (under £200) was from a company offering £50 cashback via TCB! :j I think I may make a frugal addict of him yet!
I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

One is greatly enjoying this challenge. Although how you dear peasants can possibly manage on as little as £4000 a day is quite beyond me.

In fact I think I've managed September on about £136, as long as I don't go wild with my spending tomorrow :jLive on £11k in 20110 -

Dear Maam,
Could you please spare one of your gloves for my friend Nyk to sell on e-bid. I noticed that you are a fan as you have one of their umbrellas, so I would be grateful if you could oblige. This would help us fund our extravagent lifestyles.
From your humble servant,

You would have been proud of me maam this afternoon: thanks to extra lessons from Eager Learner, I could be found in the aisles of Asda (don't ask maam, it's a sort of soup kitchen) with a 'mySupermarket.com' print out of all the bargainist of bargains to pick up AND I got 2 x 24rolls whoopsied to 88p. Didn't buy kitchen rolls as somerfield's they are half the price of asda's cheapest at the moment. And eggs I have now learnt considerably cheaper at my local greengrocer(99p vs £1.44 for 6:eek: ) Stockpiled on asda uht skimmed milk on offer (HM yogurt). Must go and pot up my curry base I've been bulk cooking today.
In short - look what you've done to me in 3 short months:D .
Nyk, I have been well entertained by you this afternoon. Mrs Hayes - I have never had pets but I was thrilled to hear that maybe you'll be able to sort this problem - I am amazed and warmed by this story:T .
cw18 - can I echo what others have said: thanks for explaining your situation and you will get much help and care here. And hopefully some laughter too.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
