That's great news SF, well done for working out what's right for you right now :T The uni thing is hard, especially when you live with others who are still part of that system and you're yet to slot into a new one fully. TBH, I was housesharing again for a couple of years with students and even though I was well into my career, a part of me still longed to be back there with them, even though I'd left uni a decade before
I did meet my OH through the house though so not all bad
[My thanks button works most of the time and then occasionally it says 'blow this, I'm overworked and underpaid, I'm off to Malaga for a bit'.]I think its just accepting that one part of life is over, but hopefully there's another new exciting part just around the corner!
I've rang the hotel and explained the situation, and although they say they're sad I'm leaving, I cannot tell you how relieved I now feel! xx

I've had this problem several times before but it seems to just be the site trying to copy with several people doing the exact same thing at the same time. Usually by the time I have thanks whoever, there are more posts listed that I haven't seen. Oops! Was it me 'thamking' at same time as you, d'ye think? :rotfl:
Lists, lists, I'm making a new one as we speak otherwise and it's beginning to look like a time & motion study, so that's the way for me to go seeing as there's no DGD babysitting to fit in for now. That way, I might get more housework done.
2 loaves now proving and am planning on filling the oven gaps with hobnobs and sponges but I also found a pack of tin foil pastry/flan cases whilst clearing out a bit more space in the cupboard under the stairs. I could make some pastry cases and use up the packet of lemon meringe pie mix, Mmmmmm... decisions, decisions and I haven't even decided what's for dinner yet, as the meal plan list is one I just cannot get to grips with!
Does anyone do competitions? I keep wondering about how time-consuming and how worthwhile they are and if there are many with cash prizes? Does anyone enter the monthly eBid £50 prize draw? I've been debating whether that's worth listing in the comps thread here or if that's too small a prize to bother with? Off to start reading through some of the posts there to see what I can find out. Wish me luckMarru, are competition prizes taxable, do you know? (Just in case.)

No news about the job. I phoned the agency girl and she said it will probably be another few days before she knows anything, so just to sit tight.
I hate it when they tell you something and then they renage on it, oh well, I'll just need to wait. I've got some more forms to fill in, I like it when it is a covering letter and a cv, it is so much easier, forms are a pain in the bum, but I think they do that on purpose to weed out the folk that can't be bothered!!!
I can't wait until I get something, I am so skint, it won't be long until I am out on the streets!!!
I do fancy the one from last night though, the more I think of it, the more it's got my name on it. They were really easy to speak to, it didn't feel like an interview at all.
My boots have got holes in them, can't afford new ones, so will need to make do with cardboard inside. Once I am sorted, I am not going back here, I've been reading back the old posts and am at page 33 now. It is giving me good ideas, and I feel that it can actually be done if I just tweak the way I live.
Speak later,
SL x0 -
Skint Lynne, I hope you hear about the job soon - that must be so frustrating! xBe who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Music eh SF? I wouldn't have thought that; isn't it funny the ideas you have in your head of people when you can't see them! I guess it's the numbers work you're wanting to do, I assumed you did a more science-based degree rather then arts. Good luck with the rehearsal, I would never have volunteered for something like that, far too much of a wuss
Taka, you must be around the same age as me, a little younger. And that's a good point, everyone would be so shocked to see me in a dress as well that they wouldn't notice anything else I'd done...paper plates and curled up sarnies it is then :rotfl:
Sorry you haven't heard about the job SL, it's so hard when you're really holding onto something tightly and want to know the answer NOW! Hope you hear something soon, maybe the other job you really want will come up, fingers crossed.
Had an interesting afternoon and just signed up for a course...that starts on Thursday...when we're meant to be heading off to the cottages :rotfl:Have rearranged some things, just a few more to do and then everything else will have to be squeezed in tonight/tomorrow! I feel a list coming on...:rotfl:The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000
