Point of interest - Sunday, 31st August 2008 represents exactly two thirds of the way through the challenge. We will have exactly...
122 days left until the end of challenge. Sunday will be day
244 of this challenge and this is a leap year, so there are
366 days, meaning that 310808 represents exactly two thirds of year 2008.
Add the numbers across the way
1+2+2 = 5
2+4+4 = 10
3+6+6 = 15 (5+10+15 = 30) 3+0 = 3
Add the numbers down the way
1+2+3 = 6,
2+4+6 = 12
2+4+6 = 12 (6+12+12 = 30) 3+0 = 3
Add all the numbers together
1+2+2+2+4+4+3+6+6 = 30 3+0 = 3
OK, I have now completely forgotten what this was all about, but it was something to do with the importance of the number 3 :rotfl: :rotfl:
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Definite number OCD lol!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!

nyk- were you inspired by Jim Carey in the Number 23 by any chance?
Happy birthday to all those with birthdays coming up! Hope you have a great day.
I'm making a shopping list at the moment. Our spending on food always goes over what we plan, so my aim is to buy food for one week and stick to the list. Then next week I'll buy food for a week, but spend less money. Or so the theory goes0 -

Haven't heard of that one, must find out more! If only it had been anyone except Jim Carey - didn't even manage to watch all of Ace Ventura last week. :rotfl:
Going to watch some more 'Friends' on DVD after crunching house building numbers all evening. I think I need to frugal even more, earn/raise more and save more! It costs how much for a heating system??I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.
Frugal living challenge - living on little in 2025 while frugalling towards retirement.0 -
What sort of dhastardly present is that for me birthday - no forum:eek:
. Definitely a virgo me.
Bluefleur - hang on in there re OH and frugalising - he sounds a little like mine and slowly we are singing from the same hymnsheet. Our finances are still kept separate until he has sorted himself out more, but he is gradually able to talk about it more - he couldn't do that for ages (I'm talking several years) . But now he can listen and consider taking on board my suggestions. & sometimes he actually takes action!! I'm doing all the hard work, & its a bit exhausting at times, but he is worth it, and appreciative. And he seems to be enjoying my grocery challenge.
Hahahahha - was at asda for only the second time tonight and suddenly realised that whoopsied is a real word!! I thought you lot had made it up. But no, they really do whoopsie stuff:rotfl: :rotfl:
Have a good Saturday everyone. I have a very nice day planned - a walk on the Downs (about 20 of us) and a picnic where everyone brings a dish to share and it looks like the sun might shine. Couldn't ask for more:D .I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Thanks BB. I'm going to stay patient- but sometimes it is quite trying. Ordering pizza is not part of the food budget reduction plan. Boys!
Lots of chores for me tomorrow. That'll free up my week so that I can try to cook from scratch a bit more. Hope you all have a good debt-free wannabe free day0 -

Happy Birthday Frunchkins.... Have lovely birthdays everyone.:grinheart :grinheart :grinheart
...............................................
Have been round at mum's preparing stuff for when bro comes home. He is being allowed home on Monday:D , he is now catheterised and has a syringe driver of morphine for pain relief. A ripple air mattress has been delivered today which will hopefully stop any pressure sores developing as he is no longer able to cope with being out of bed. It will be so good to have him home again and be able to care for him away from the sterile surroundings of the hospital, I'm sure he will be much happier, I know everyone else will be.
Janey - hope the situation with mum's care is resolved soon, it must be very stressful for you.
Marru - Enjoy the weekend, hope you and DD both feel better soon.:heartpuls
Everyone - have a good day tomorrow it will seem very strange not checking in with you all, especially on a Saturday when more people are about during the day. My plans will be to finish housework, sort my veggies -( runner beans have been running again:rotfl:) then go and sort mums veggies, and later hopefully pick lots of blackberries as they are now ready here:j Nyk have you checked on your freebie blackberries lately? I will have to make jam with them as I cannot prise so much as a single icecube more into my two freezers:o. Might also pick some rosehips and try out my new jelly bag stand to make some rosehip syrup/jelly. Day off from hospital tomorrow as other relatives going to visit.

I decided to wash the outside of one of my upstairs windows. I thought it would be easy enough to climb out onto the porch roof so I could do it in comfort without twisting myself by hanging outside.
It was pretty easy to get out of the window.
It was only as I was sliding over the sill I realised that my idea of the drop onto the porch roof was a little off
As I was negotiating the descent, it did cross my mind that i might not be able to climb back in
When my feet touched base, I realised that not only would I have a little difficulty getting back in, neither could I reach the window I wanted to clean as I couldn't reach
After much huffing and puffing (with an interested audience of 2 sheep and 3 felines) I managed to haul myself back inside.
But the bowl of water is still on the porch roof
It's not easy being vertically challenged.
Hello and (((huggs to everyone who needs one))) Sorry just been reading lately.
Janey you made me smile. Last week I painted the front of my house. I climbed out onto the bay window to paint the bedroom window above. I neatly painted all round the window sill then realised I could't get back in across the wet paint. DD1 had to be called to pass out chair to climb on so I was high enough to step over the freshly painted sill. Banged my head on the top of the window but did get back inside, head first, in a not very stylish manner:oDoing voluntary work overseas for as long as it takes .......
My DD might make the odd post for me0 -
A sneaky visit before MSE has a rest.
Happy birthday to the Virgo babes this weekend:bdaycake:
Oh, how I am suffering for my gymnastic efforts yesterday
My left shoulder is agony. No trampolining for me today :rotfl:
I am going to add up all my spends. Will probably not be back on until Monday as I have a full weekend.
With a bit of luck, my Remoska will arrive today and I can experiment :j0
