 Congratulations, well done and good luck with this and future sales :)

It's a miserable day here again, DGD managed to get soaked out in the garden but we picked some more apples and I now have 7 tubs of them stewed and ready for the freezer (1 tub per apple sponge). There are still hundreds to pick. I'd put a washing on last night but weather prohibits hanging it out to dry. I might risk leaving it until tomorrow in the hope of a dry day, or I could be rash and stick it in the tumble drier during cheap rate. Who knows? Can't decide. DGD is grumbling about being cold and now the sun is trying to come out - maybe I'll hang the washing out until dinner time. :o Back soon :)

Frugal living challenge - living on little in 2025 while frugalling towards retirement.
  • Hi all (hangs head in shame)!
Went on holiday at the start of July and couldnt control the spending, so buried the head well and truly in the sand (literally).
Been lurking now for a few weeks and know I have to get back to listing all my spends again.
I use my debit and credit card for everything so although I havent everything written down I will be able to track it all back to start of July.
I'll post again soon when I add it all up.
Live on a little over £4k challenge
    Sealed pot challenge no. 315
  • Totals now updated to £5985.26

At the start I was counting everything I spent which brings it a whole lot higher, but since I have started this way I am going to keep going so as not to confuse myself. September is a new month and a new start!

Just racing through quickly to admit I have bought a Remoska  Got it at the old price with a bit of help from the Remoska thread folks :j

I checked out Ebay but they were selling for more than a new one

And...got 3 tins of Campbells veg soup at 12p plus a giant bar of Cadbury's Whole Nut for 75p and a beautiful Per Una tunic for £1.99 in a charity shop. :j

And found 10p on the pavement :D

    Mole Musings

I also have a mole in my freezer courtesy of a rather large cat called Harley who purrs like a ....motorbike :D
For some reason Harley realised that if he waited patiently by a mole hill he would eventually be rewarded with a treat. Except he never eats them. Just brings them home and leaves them where I am likely to tread on them in the morning.
Or, as the mood takes him, in a trainer which is quite a strange feeling when your toes meet velvety fur where there shouldn't be any.

So, it's in the freezer and does a nice double act for guests with the squirrel :D

    And the bat ;)

My lovely little piggy boy Bert slept away during a car trip to the vet today. I was taking him in to get him put down but he was already gone. :(
