Jumble bee I really apologise for this but.....Jordanitis????
When the word "Jordan" is attached to anything...a finger is not uppermost in my mind
But I hope it all goes well.
And you could go Commando
Sophiesmum you are a one woman miracle. I think you are a real frugal champion and deserve a special mention and possibly a (HM) star.
Hi kbarty.
Nyk that website you mentioned is no good for me as I have no gas. I will be interested to see if my electric bill has gone down this quarter. I had already managed to cut it by £8 a month last year. Luckily we are on the BG capped until 2010 tariff.0 -

Hi BB,
yes that is dehydrator (with top off) it is only a cheap one cost about 30 quid with postage but it does everything I need it to. I really like it, I do fruit for snacks and muesli, dried veggies to add to stews etc, herbs, and have even done some biltong.

Hi Janey! Was it definitely the www.i-measure.org.uk website you went to? I'm all electric and use i-measure every week to calculate electricity costs and my carbon rating. I think the gas is just an extra option available.
Jumble-Bee, if I was you I would certainly make sure the plastic surgery department knew for sure which op was to be performed!

Hi everyone
Hope you all had a good bank holiday weekend. I've not been able to get onto the site since Friday for some reason?
Anyway I have been going over my figures and have updated my sig.
With regards to this challenge I have not included: mortgage, council tax, water, insurances (house, dogs, tv, life) xmas/home improvements fund, baby fund, pension and debt payments.
I have included: gas, electric, tv, landline & mobiles, internet, food and diesel.
I was shocked to realise these are costing us £100.39/week!!
This is before any other "leisure activities"! We are definitely not as frugal as I had hoped! I definitely need to improve if we are going to manage the proper challenge next year. Gas is our biggest expenditure although we have just had a new boiler fitted so hopefully this will reduce our bill abit. I am going to to get rid of my mobile when the contract is up which will save me £10 a month (DH has to have one for work) and we are doing the grocery challenge so we can try and get our food bill down.
Every extra penny in the frugalmite's fund will help! xxDS 1 born 12/02/2009DS 2 born 30/01/2012Married 07/07/07xx Love my boys xx0 -
My new fridge/freezer just arrived!!!"Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

Hi MrsHayes, it's scary when you first see the figure that HAS to be found each week for the basic 'needs' before even touching on debt repayments and other essentials. In fact, it can get downright depressing at seeing in black & white how difficult it really is to incorporate 'wants', which is why we are all here to offer help and support wherever we can. You're in a good position to have four full months of practice before launching into the 2009 challenge, so good luck. The first 3 or 4 months are the most difficult as it can take at least that to settle into the new spending routine
:j Yeah! For the arrival of Marru's new freezer!I reserve the right not to spend.

Hi fruguys and gals, you know how exciting it was for me to get a new bathroom suite? Well, here's one better - today, there's an 18ft fixy-up boat available on our local Freecycle! :rotfl:This would solve my river-crossing problems! What a joint-project that would make!I reserve the right not to spend.
