  • Been and got a few bits for over the weekend, we're staying at home but still going to have some fun. We're having a mini party tomorrow night for me and the boys for them doing so well at school this year (got their awards this morning, so proud!). Got a few balloons and streamers in the cupboard and plenty of party music to play so bought a couple of packets of crisps, a pack of 50 frozen party sausage rolls (some of which will be saved and used for picnics during summer hols) and a pizza. Weather not looking great so will bake buns with them during day tomorrow to add to party and got all ingredients in cupboard for that. Plus I got a few other bits we were running low on cost £9. Still well below budget and still very much making the most of it!

  • Bit of good news, I've got a tin I throw my loose change in. Just counted it up and got £19.82 in there! Between that and my bits and bobs elsewhere I've just about got christmas covered, especially if I get everything as bargain as the bits I've already got.

Well done :T I wish I was so organised!!
  • Isn't it great when things work out like that?! Last couple of parties I've had at home, ones we've invited other people to any way, I've manged to break even. I do food which I can always keep within my grocery budget and people bring a bottle. It's the only way to go!

  • Oh no, taken a thousand steps back, just looked at the first picture of my ex since he left 13 months ago, came a cross it by accident. One of those where I know I shouldn't look but just couldn't stop myself. Damn damn damn! Not sure if I want to cry or cheer or cheer or what. I could do with swearing lots I think. Nooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ok, so as much as I wanted to cheer for being rid and better off I still cried! And now I've started I just can't stop. Maybe it's what I need. I got to the 1 year mark and expected to be upset and really wasn't, so hopefully it's coming out now and then I'll feel better. I hope. Any advice on how to stop loving someone would be greatly appreciated!!!!

  • Thanks scrooge, I'm feeling a little better today. Quite foolishly hit the vodka last night so head's a little fuzzy but nothing a chocolate milkshake won't fix!

I think I did let it all out last night. I told someone a couple of weeks ago that I'd realised it was the person he was promising to be that I was in love with and not the person he really is and felt so much better for reaching that stage, the photo just knocked me back a bit.

But yes, the party will make me feel lots better, a good boogie round the kitchen to some cheesy disco music and I should be there!

  • Well I'm pleased to say I'm feeling much more like myself today. Had a great day out with children and parents yesterday and got a sack of potatoes and 2 dozen eggs from the farm so enough food to last us this week again with the bits of meat still in the freezer, hoping to stay well under grocery budget this month and adding what I've made on ebay etc should get a big chunk off my debts and get rid of them much quicker!

  • Hi Notenough, glad you are feeling better, struck a cord with me when you said about your ex promising how he would be, thing is leopards don't change their spots and you are better off without him if he wasn't delivering what you needed, I speak from past experience of terrible heartbreak but I am out the other side now and so happy with my hubby. It does take a long time to get over any relationship, especially one that you don't want to be over, but you will get there ((hugs))
