Best high user ISP

Hi
This is my first post on this board and I am hoping for some advice. I live in a shared house with 3 other people and we are relatively heavy BB users- upto 50 GB per month.
We are presently with Plusnet option 4 ( who we have found very reliable) and pay £29.99 pm with a 40 GB cap which we hit most months and Plusnet slow our speed down so its almost unusable.
Does anyone know of any reliable ISP with a 50 - 60 GB cap for not more than £30.00 pm
I have seen a company called allfastaccess.co.uk who advertise an unlimited package with no fair use policy for £26.99 does anyone know anything about this provider.
Any help would be appreciated

Hi,
i am with Plusnet (and although im about to compalin about their payment methods) there is a way to get more data allowance at full speed.
you can configure your account via the online options to give you increased allowance @ 75p per GB
there is also a checkbox to enable pay as you go , this means when you get over your limit instead of slowing down you just get charged but at £1 per GB. You can toggle this on the ocntrol panel.
i currently have mine set to 70GB (option4 + 30gb) 29.99 + 22.50 = 52.50
best i have found - unfortunately ( i dont like their payments methods)
trouble is snce i upgraded i am using less, this can be charged at any time though0 -
I have 100gb limit and on 2gb and pay £35 with Zen but its a legacy product and not on sale anymore
I been with them for 3 years and never let me down
They do have 50gb limits on new accounts

20mb Virgin Media is best for your use i would find. Fast speed & no download limits (traffic shaping during the day but nothing major i find!)0

I also want you to know that after months and months of trying to get a better product / more allowance form Plus and them, telling me it was not possible, one day one of the CSO's asked if i had tried the option 4 + additional allowance options and i was in shock , the pages were there for the customer s to use but even after in depth email conversations with senior members of staff no one bothered to offer me this or even seemed to know the option exists
fairly good company but the same as all big companys , big communication problems , loss of sight of customer satisfaction and more concentration on customers money - nothing else.0 -

surely Be/O2 would be better as they offer all the above minus the traffic shaping, plus they're cheaper0 -
Thanks for the replies. I have just come accross a small provider called Titan that seem to have some good products - has anyone any knowledge of them?

In this case, for Be it would be £14 for up to 8Mbps Unlimited or £18 for up to 24Mbps Unlimited (depending on line quality).
Prices vary for O2 packages, and are less if you are an O2 customer, between £7.50 and £22.50 for unlimited usage.
Be/O2 have never pursued their fair usage policies yet. However for the lower prices, you need to be in a O2/Be enabled area. Be charge a one off connection fee of £24 (unless you can get a referral from a Be customer) and have varying contracts (I believe they ask for three months notice if you want to move). O2 was supposed to have a connection fee today, but seemed to have extended their no connection fee offer until the end of 2008. O2's contracts are for 12 months. You can use Samknows to find out what LLU services are in your area:

There is Sky Max but with the additional costs, plus you need to take a TV package too, this may push things beyond what the original poster is asking for. Again, only available in LLU enabled areas, otherwise its capped below what the original poster is asking for.
Any of the Entanet resellers (ie. ADSL24, UKFSN, Titan etc.) can offer what the original poster is asking for and get very good reviews but it will be £29.99 for 60GB peak, 330GB off peak. If you want to compromise and schedule your heavy downloading in the early hours, they all do 30GB peak, 300GB off peak for £19.99. They have the advantage of a one month contract, so if its not suitable, it shouldn't be difficult to move, plus migration is free.0 -

Fast.co.uk (who were voted first) are a little too expensive for what you are asking for.0 -
I second that - Be* or O2 for you. I'm on Be and have had zero problems and sync well above the 'up to 8mb' speed I'm paying for.
I've never needed to contact CS, but everyone on the forums says they are great at dealing with problems - and they are are quick to answer questions on the forums too.
Of course they are not perfect, but definitely better than others. [If you don't already know - O2 bought over Be* last year so basically it's the same company]

Well its not a guaranteed fast speed (dependent on your distance from the exchange) plus if the OP doesn't have a land line then they'll need to get that installed (looking at £110 at the minimum) and then the contractual line rental with whatever company.0
