WOW this is the first thread I have seen turn into a slanging match on MSE.
Its not a pretty sight.0 -
And you're as thick as dog muck but that doesn't surprise me because a lot of those who have a go at me about some of my posts are obviously so thick they need help to tie their shoe laces. Can you show me anywhere in the post where I said that?
You can't. No doubt as usual, I'll not get an apology for yet another unwarranted tirade.
Another one of your silly assumptions like a rather immature juvenile. Or perhaps you are an immature juvenile?
If you are as intelligent as you think then I suggest you start putting it to some use with some positive advice when people ask for it. Else otherwise go and play with yourself somewhere else.
And, if you think any sort of apology from me is coming your way, all I can say is make yourself comfortable for a very long wait. At least it'll give you time to grow up.0 -

No what it means is non smokers (vast majority of the population) get ripped off, have to subsidise the treatment the NHS has to give them for smoking related illnesses like heart attacks, emphysema and lung cancer. If smokers pay extra taxes then it means they pay in advance for any treatment they need in the future which is perfectly fair for everyone.
so if your over wieght, eat greasy burger and chips every day but dont smoke and have a heart attack a smoker could turn round and say "hey wait a minute ive paid for my heart op via the extra tax ive paid so this burger fiend shouldnt get one until he has started smoking"
plenty of people have heart attacks and contract all kinds of cancer and have never smoked,so should they be denied the same level of treatment from our NHS as a smoker? after all the smoker has paid much much more for it,infact most will be paying around £5 a day to smoke and pay for thier heart attack treatment.
we all pay for the NHS (well some of us do) with income tax and national insurance,so there is no need for the amount of tax on fags, just ban thenm altogether and be done with it if they are so bad.
just incase you are wondering i smoked for about 8 years, ive now stopped for almost 2 years....work permit granted!0 -

I'm going to leave off whatever opinion I may have of pro/anti smoking, and provide my knowledge from the transport industry.
Do you know whether this was an owner driver, or is it a reasonably sized coach firm (i.e. more than just one or two coaches)?
Driver collusion is perhaps a possibility, but that is a large assumption. Conor is correct that the driver will need to watch his hours.
I suggest you find a telephone number for the French police, and report it over the telephone. You also MAY have some kind of civil claim against the coach company (although I wonder whether the OK courts would say that they do not have jurisdiction over an offence that happened in France) however I expect they have a good clause limiting their liability for theft from the coach. IF driver collusion is involved however, this would be a different matter, and they will be vicariously liable for his actions.
Finally, please PM the name and town of the coach company.0
