But it IS very drinkable. All 4 I bought were good.
Thanks for the semantics.
An ASDA member of staff confrimed to me that the company do not sell cases of wine anymore. Indeed that has been confirmed in this thread.
The post re duty was inferring that the wine is of poor quality.
That is contrary to the opinions expressed by those people that have been lucky enought to find it.0 -

Just checked with Asda Cardiff Bay and the offer is not on.

Asda, Hyson Green, Nottm have lots of wine, red, white and frascati. Got red Mighty Murray this morning. It's very nice. Am going back for more tomorrow.Don't delay, do it today!0

Asda in Dyce, Aberdeen have none - boo hoo. Just said they do not sell by the case, only by the bottle. No car so unable to pop over to Garthdee one easily.0

Just got back from Asda in Harphurhey and couldn't spot any at all.

Thanks, went to our local asda(in bromsgrove), didn't find that wine but instead picked up a bottle of HIDDEN WINEYARDS, the price was £1.92 , got 6 bottles and got 10% off.The wine is british and comes in red and white and is 8.5% vol.We even used the £10 voucher that came through the post.thanks0

i was in asda last week ...
and this woman was complaining that the shampoo was a penny cheaper in her local shop.... she went on and on and on .... 'its a penny cheaper ...''
i thought ...' thats the cheapest whine iv heard in asda' :-)THESE ARE THE GOOD OLD DAYS ……
..…JUST WAIT AND SEE0 -
oppps - well ive gone and done it! LOL
think I have taken the money saving a bit too far....and also my driving a bit too far.
Im in Leeds and it looked as if on these threads the nearest ASDA with stock was Nottingham, so I drove 100 miles to ASDA nottingham to pick some up.
before you think im too nuts! im lucky to have a fully expensed company car with paid for fuel, so apart from 200 miles of return trip pollution, it didnt cost anything, also I had a free afternoon, as something I was supposed to be doing cancelled.
so I get to ASDA, and shock horror, it says maximum of 6 boxes (36 bottles) per customer, so I had to do the trip a few times.
in total i did "runs", each time filling a trolley with 6 cases, luckily the store was usual saturday afternoon busy so no one paid much attention as i went to 4 different tills.
so i ended up with 24 boxes and 144 bottles!!! at £1.49 each!
it came to 215.56 (incl the 10% off) which comes out at £1.49 per bottle
As we drink 1 bottle every 2 nights then we have about a years supply at 0.75p a night - which is helping me justify it to the missus LOL
just opened one of each variety we got and it tastes great, especially for the money!
still 4 huge pallets in the adsa doorway, if your as mad as me!!
cheers
