Nearly time for our walk... just waiting for DD to finish getting changed. Apparently she's got "nothing to wear":rotfl::rotfl: She's got a wardrobe full - I dread to think whats she's going to be like when she's a teenager!!!
Right...what to do for tea  :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -

DS2 had a lovely time thanks - he didn't want to come home.
Mudbath, either I was looking at the lakeland site wonky earlier or they have just added a pile fo stuff to the sale. Up to £60 now.... I have got some will power. Just have to remember where i put it'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Lol, I was really good in lakeland. I went in...found the jug....and left. Well, I paid for it first, honest!!!
You all solved my dilemna yesterday....i'm not going to the 40th on Saturday. Today's dilemna is.....DH has health insurance through work. I've always had health insurance as have the children. Over the years we've, sadly, had to claim a lot more than we've paid in. However, it looks like DS might not need to have anymore eye operations (fingers crossed). My health has defintely settled down too. We are paying a fortune - £125 a month. I'm thinking that if I stopped the insurance and paid it into a separate account then, if DS needs another operation we'll have the money to pay for it. If he doesn't need operations the money can just build up. He can't have the operations on the NHS because I refuse, point blank, to let my son go to the NHS hospital that the only consultant that can do his operations in this area works at. It's a hell hole and resulted in DS having to have over 10 operations as the first one failed due to infection and incompetence. Oooh, looks like i'm still tetchy about that....thought the anger had gone!!!
So, do I keep paying for private insurance or do I keep the money and start saving it? DS goes to see his consultant in three weeks....whatever I decide to do i'll wait until i'm told on that date if he needs anymore operations now.
Ok, i'll stop ranting now! xx0 -
Mudbath - that dilemma should be forwarded to the weekly one in Martins's tips! I have no idea what to suggest hun but we don't have private medical insurance. I read once that if needed most people cold raise the money through friends/family/loans/overdrafts/cards if the worst came to the worst and would be best off saving the money.
Car failed MoT but only on missing wheel nuts! OH got to get them and I need to take it back on Wednesday.
Open Evening at DS3 school tonight and DS2 (ex pupil) is demonstrating tennis on the newly openned courts. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Thanks dusty...if it was just me i'd drop the insurance. It's the fact I won't let my son go to that particular NHS hospital where my son's consultant works. Grrrrrrr! I think i'll see what his consultant says in three weeks xx0

Evening all
Cookie – Nursery graduation? Whatever next? And I hope you decided to enjoy the quality time with your DS. The housework will still be sitting there patiently for you when you get back. The wee ones grow up very quickly.
Pigpen – please don’t mention Christmas – it’s months away!
Tia – big hugs – hope you’re feeling better soon. The ear drops, well, you just have to put your head right to one side and do your best.
Well, a reasonable day at work but I am tired. I'm toying with whether or not to take Monday off simply because I can. I'll see how my work load pans out tomorrow. If I manage to get a particular project out the door, then I can do Monday. Chap with the chipped bone managed to drive in alright so my chauffeuring days are over. He presented me with a bottle of Gordons gin as a thankyou (I refused to let him contribute to the petrol) so that's my weekend sorted -- in fact, I've just poured a G&T using it so
And Lil-me , as others have said – you passed well done you! That's all that matters. Don’t be disheartened. I think you've done incredibly well given everything else you do at the same time. And thanks for the tip about the bite stuff. My leg hasn't fallen off today and in fact, the bite is much better than it normally would have been if I'd used ordinary anti-histamine. One of my colleagues walked into town at lunch time so I got him to buy me a new lot of the stuff - it's called After Bite and I heartily recommend it.
Right, I fear flying has flown out the window because I'm knackered. I think I'll take this G&T into the garden and sit there for half an hour catching the last of the sun before it goes round behind next door.

The only thing achieved today was cleaning the sink in the bathroom as Thursday is my bathroom day.
Did manage to get the dining room sorted last night so hopefully I'll get the bathroom done tonight and still be reasonably up to date.
We have bought some new venetian blinds for our bedroom and DH is hoping to get them up tonight.
Have a huge pile of ironing to do, may do that whilst House is on, last one in the series tonight.
Right time to set to.
Have a good evening....it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.
