Hi
Sorry if this is obvious but is a cup - the cup size you get with the measuring cups? I think they are supposed to be American measures?
Can anyone clarify? Great thread - have to give this a go!:DGrocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Yes, use measuring cups. Or 2lbs flour and 750ml water.
Here's is an EXCELLENT blog entry (not mine, I hasten to add) with detailed photos and the master recipe:

Morning everyone,
reading all these posts has tempted me to order the book - which I have this morning - can't wait for it to arrive! Tried to resist but failed - and then I had to order another to qualify for free posting - then whilst on the site I saw yet another great book - not very moneysaving but I'm considering it an investment!
Thanks for all the great hints and tips.
Will give the basic recipe a go today - all going to plan.

I had the book in my shopping basket on Amazon and looking for another item to get the free delivery, when I thought STOP! You can get the information off the web - you do not need another book about bread! This in part is due to having spent £80 ish pounds on special light bulbs recommended on another thread.:)
Going to have to give this a go though. Shall have to cover my Panny incase it feels rejected!Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Hi
Does anyone know if you can use Dove's Gluten Free flour for this receipe. My daughter has coeliac disease and is always asking me to try new receipes. Any help would be gratefully received. Thanks.

Snap, i need one thats risen more to make butties
Are you using enough dough? You should be grabbing about a grapefruit sized amount in your hand. After shaping the dough and putting it in the tin you should leave i to rise for ~1hr, then put straight into a hot oven.
All the bread I have made had buldged above the tin, risen alot higher then anyother homemade breads previously tried!0
