I won't be going shopping til Tuesday but am posting as I've been told off by mumzyof2 for not posting enough haha
I finally managed to empty my freezer :T And I've defrosted it :T And I've scrubbed it clean :T It's only taken me three months to empty it haha
Today I'll be using up some of my left over bits, gonna try making a pie for lunch (will post a recipe if it turns out edible), and will have beef with mash and veg for tea I think
Hi Mr DT
Just a quicky - Mrs M gave me a great tip, if you wipe the inside of your freezer down with fabric softener before switching it on again, it makes it easier next time you want to defrost - the ice doesn't stick and comes off in sheets - all good, plus I can vouch that the smell goes away after a short while and definitly doesn't contaminate any food.

Hi everyone,
In keeping with the baking theme today - I tried this recipe which shaz_mum_of_2 had posted on the old style vs the USDA head-to-head challenge and it was so easy and moist that I hope she won't mind me directing you to her post if you want to give it a go. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=12094199&postcount=1597

My month is starting tommoro and will run till the end of july. I've got mr t coming in the morn not sure what my total spend is yet the estimate given was £65. This lot will hopefully last us close to 3 wks (not including milk). My budget for this month is gonna be £110. I know its gonna be tough month for us but i am determined to come in on budget. I've decided not to attempt meal planning again, last month i failed misserably at it as me and my oh eat at different times due to his work, i'm going down the hm ready meal option instead. Wish me luck

Had to take my parents shopping today so ended up getting the bits I couldn't get the other day plus some eggs.
Went to my friends today to cut her DD2 hair and only the way home my DD1 says "I need a tin of fruit for my crumble". She has "tech" tomorrow and forgot the give me the list of stuff she needed, they're making fruit crumble using tinned fruit . Why she can't use the wrinkly apples I have here I don't know.
Anyway had to make a dash to the local COOP (never go there to dear) and brought 2 tins of apple slices 69p each:eek:
Total spend today £13.79
How do you cross through your words? So I can use it on my sig.

ICED BUN RECIPE - TAKEN FROM THE BACK OF MORRISONS WHITE BREAD FLOUR
FFM
Thanks for this FFM - I am going to give it a go as soon as I can. We have just got back from a short walk - OH has had to work all weekend so we needed the fresh air. Have made bread in the BM, two batches of yogourt and a roast chicken dinner - not so impressive as all you other cooks though! I rediscovered my yogourt strainers in the back of a cupboard and they really make a difference - the yogourt is really nice and thick and creamy. I bought mine years ago from Lakeland so can't remember how much they cost - but I expect you could get some cheap in a pound shop- the mesh needs to be quite fine though.
Off to watch a film and finish a big glass of wine! Hope I don't fall asleep before the end (of the film I mean not the wine!)
