wellll........... my dh is reporting Argos to TRADING STANDARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Manager was keen for us to take a refund and then do follow up but we all know that this would have meant the end of the matter. He was quite nice at the end and walked us out into the car park.  My husband then asked him what he thought would be the outcome of all this and he said that since he was not standing in the store he would speak his mind, that is we would probably win with trading standards.


THe manager was not called Andy was he??? He does not liker the public buying this stuff. >:(
I had almost exactly the same thing at mill hill when they tried to do me out of a dyson i had reserved. but i paid with the automated machine after they refused to take my money at the till, eventually I got my Dyson.. ;D

This is my first post so I hope i'm doing it correctly. I have been using this site for three or four months now and have managed to save quite a bit of money on various things, even before the argos thread started!! I have managed to pick up some good things from argos from reading everyone else's posts and because of this wanted to give something back.

I managed to reserve one of the Canon camcorders today (563/1151) at a store in Essex (near London) for £75. I won't say which one because i know some people will go along to it and try and blag the reserve code. If any one is interested PM me and I will tell you which store and give the reserve no. (it is reserved till close tomorrow)

i managed to get a umbro watch and bag from gateshead store. staff very nice, even when they knew it was off the ro list still went searching for it. wouldnt give up.

automated machines for payments are brill. although didnt help when i tried to get some hair straightners that came up as nil. ordered 2 with other items. staff couldnt find. there was a glich in the system!!
