wellll........... my dh is reporting Argos to TRADING STANDARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I reserved some toys for my dd and some other bits, thrilled at getting them since most stores have run dry. I live in East London so it took us the good part of an hour to get there. We managed to order some batteries and some household bits and the lady at the till was happy putting the stuff through until she saw RO. 'Oh you cant buy RO stuff here, you have to go the RO room'. Mill Hill has an exclearance room where old stock is kept but most of it was only a third or 50% off and the boxes were soooo battered! Anyway, I told her to stop so I could put my transactions onto two cards (hoping she wouldnt realise that the first lot of goods she'd put through were RO ) and that was fine. The rest she said she couldnt put through as they were RO. Oh well.

I paid for the items and went to look in the RO room to see if I could find the remaining ones I couldnt order. No joy, the guy there couldnt find anything, everything was everywhere. Dh was waiting for our stuff and two or three items came - the rest couldnt be found.

Anyway it all ended up with DH arguing with them for 3 hours (no joke) saying that we had reserved some of the items they couldnt find and this had been a wasted journey, could they replace them (there were two) with something of similar value. NO was the answer. Anyway he talked to CO and an hour later concluded with them that he would be taking this matter to Trading Standards.

The Manager was keen for us to take a refund and then do follow up but we all know that this would have meant the end of the matter. He was quite nice at the end and walked us out into the car park. My husband then asked him what he thought would be the outcome of all this and he said that since he was not standing in the store he would speak his mind, that is we would probably win with trading standards.


WE SHALL SEE!!!

Oh and the cheek of the staff to say we cant reserve RO items. Huh, they should come and read this site! CO also said they were suspicious of dh as 'where did you get this item number from ' as it's old stock.

the angel of the north (tall statue near newcastle?? not good at maps etc,lol) looks a lot like johnnyc!!! tall, proud, arms outstretched helping all!
Headphones are delivered safe and sound (pun intended,lol) pin a gold star on his chest ........... carefully  :-* :-* :-*

next is dolphin1 -  :-* :-*
watch has been delivered, collecting tomorrow so another gold star is required but as dolphon1 is female............watch where you pin it  :D
