Went out with a friend last night and neither of us were driving. A tad bit hungover this morning but had a great night.
Took the girls to have their cut today. DD2 has a side fringe cut in. I really didn't want her to have a fringe, especially 1 that hangs in her eyes (pet hate is hair in eyes). She had it exactly as described and expected me to be pleased. I told her straight that I didn't like it. She got upset and I felt mean but I promised I would always be honest with them. She's staying at a friends tonight. Her dad hasn't seen it yet.
DS1 managed to get to his passport appointment, despite the appalling weather, he borrowed his dads sat nav. I must admit I was a bit anxious about him driving bit he's got to learn.
OHs back is giving him some gyp again. He's been on the inversion table, so I'm hoping its going to offer him some relief.

Trust you Piq, my lovely, to always have a tale to tell!! :rotfl:
Agree re honesty, Lucielle..I have promised the same and pretty much stick to it. With kids, even teenagers, (or is that especially teenagers), you need to say what you mean and do what you say

Inspirational stuff, just read a lot of this thread and it is amazing!
I'm a single guy at 26, no kids or anything and whilst my rent is expensive if you can achieve what you have then I better make sure I follow suit!Debtfree!0 -
Hi DC thanks for popping in.
Another hectic week finishes. I'll be so glad when its tomorrow!
Had a meeting on Monday night for DD2 going up to high school, didn't get in until after 8.00 and then got tea.
Wednesday night took DD1 for a spray tan as its her prom tonight. Not been sleeping very well and having horrid dreams about said prom and going to the hairdressers and everything going wrong!!! OH hasn't been sleeping well, his back is hurting again. He even slept the other way round in bed and as much as I love him I couldn't bring myslef to cuddle his feet!!!
Took today as my day off, collected DD1 from school after going to Bookers and Lidl. Dropped OH off at the bus station as he was meeting up with some ex work colleagues, goodness knows what time I'll have to pick him up and what state he'll be in.
Took DD1 to the hairdressers and then got her make up done, got home and unloaded the shopping, cooked tea, dropped DD1 off for the coach and finally took my shoes off. One poor girl arrived at the pick up point and fell off her shoes. I felt so sorry for her. Mind you DD1 will be doing well if she keeps hers on! Got to collect her at midnight and I'm hoping OH will co-ordinate himself to be collected at a similar time.
I did manage a good nights sleep last night and woke up feeling quite chirpy but after an hour I could've crawled back into my pit.
I'm battling my washing pile as it is huuugggeee. I can't get anything dry, my current strategy is to put the clothes on the airer leae them overnight and the next day then finish them off in the tumble drier. Not great but its keeping it going, DS2 did have a hissy fit the other morning when his clothes were still wet and had to bunged in the drier.
DS1 has got lots of opportunities coming his way. He finishes his apprenticeship this year and is unsure which way to go. He could go to college and do a years course fulltime. He may be asked to stay on where he is. He might go and do the shearing season and then go and travel abroad and shear over there, wherever that may be...........
Right going for a cuppa tea since I can#t have anything alcofrolic and I could really do with snifter!

Washing mountain has been conquered for now. Ironing pile is also no more (for now).
Had a great weekend, fell asleep in the garden on Saturday. Went to Traquair House on Sunday and they had a medieval fair on. Bought some jewellery, I've been invited to a Druids and Hippy fancy dress (don't ask) so I managed to pick up a few items that I thought were suitable. Need to find a corset for a bramley apple shape, anyone any ideas? They also had knights jousting and tournaments etc.
Came home and needed to drop 2 chaps off at friends houses as they were sleeping over. Arrived at first house to find I had another flat tyre. This is getting stupid, 4 tyres sine October. Told the tyre place I wanted a loyalty card. OH came and rescued me. Been to the tyre place tonight and its knackered. I've decided to downgrade on the make I get as its costing a fortune.
OHs back is really sore, he's got a prolapsed disc and its giving loads of pain. He's been back to the docs and is going back to see the consultant. The pain has changed, previously he couldn't stand but now he can't sit or lie down. He took some sleeping pills last night to see if that would get him through the pain barrier.
Had got the girls organised to put the tea on before I came home. They put the meat in and put the oven on but forgot to make the clock change to get the oven to 'fire' up. So much for being organised.

I usually just lurk and read, rather in awe! But re the back pain I did wonder if you had seen the recent articles on antibiotic treatment - I can't post a link because I don't post often enough to qualify to do so, but if you google the Guardian for May 7th, on antibiotics for back pain, it should take you straight there.
May not be relevant at all for your DH's back pain of course, but it reminded me of how horrible stomach ulcers were before the discovery that helicobacter pylorii was responsible and could be zapped with antibiotics - so worth checking?0 -
Hi Lucielle..glad you're battling on but sorry re the weather and OH's pain. Miserable.
We have ditched the dryer..but does mean the back room and bannisters are always covered in drying bedding and clothes in this weather! Not a great lookMFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal
