Took the kids to the viking museum in york years ago (when they were still kids LOL!) They loved it! Well done on getting the tickets with the Tesco vouchers! Hope yours love it too!!

Was kind of you to take the soggy dutch couple back to their digs! I'd be too scared to pick up hitchhikers down here!

Yay for bargains - couldn't be cheaper than free!!

PS . Haven't used an iron in anger for years! Save your money and time ;)

DD1 does the ironing for a fiver a week, not bad when you think theres 6 of us. I don't make a habit of doing things like that.

Beanie where did you get yours from?

Weather seems to have got its act together and its a nice day. Not sure what we're going to do today, I have a parcel to take to the workshop, which won't go down well with the chaps. See what they say when they get up.

  • Sainsburys basics iron is £3.84, I got one to put me off till I could afford to buy a new one when my last one broke. That was months ago and never felt the need to replace it. It's had some hammer ironing for 5.

Lots of firsts today chaps, so I think drum roll please..... I have for the first time managed to use my tesco rewards for something other than groceries and booked some tickets for the Jorvic museum.....also for the first time I picked up some lovely hitch hikers who were sodden and also very lovely people from Holland. Took pity on them and drove them back to their accommodation as I did say I wasn't going to take them as far as that.

I have also got some billy bob bargains, some bananas to make nana bread cost, zip, zero, zilch, nada, nothing and 12 packs of Anchor butter also zero, zip, zilch, nada, nothing as they were out of date and going to be thrown. I love bargains me. Bad news is I think that DD has killed the iron. I hate spending money on irons, actually I think it might've gone into shock as I cleaned the bottom. Must remember not to do that ever again. Am also in holibob mode.

You see you do a nice thing then nice things happen - :) excellent bargains and butter is so expensive at the mo!

Your camping exploits made me laugh, we lasted one night, how beautiful it was until the midges arrived, then the rain, then the wind, then like you the dog decided actually sleeping inbetween us both was the only way he'd settle. Dog in soggy tent, in face, nice, needless to say we were up, out of tent, dressed and packed up before 7am on sunday morning.:rotfl:

Eek to irons - I'd get a value one, then again you know my ironing policy................. and yay to cute ferret babies, bigger than when we were there

Great you got tickets with cc vouchers - :T

and :j to passing your exam - :j

Managed to get everything done. We have a really nice chap who works at the station who sorted my tickets out for Thursday. Just hope the tesco Jorvick tickets arrive before then. DS1 was complaining that his ears were cold after he's had his haircut, finally he looks human again. Got his passport pics taken so he can apply for his provisional licence.

Dropped the boys off at a friends farm as they are having a farm inspection on Tuesday, so they are helping by power washing and cleaning. They've had to move their livestock up from the lower fields as our area had a severe weather warning yesterday and boy did it rain. OH has siphoned his beer into a barrel and left it on the worktop, in precisely the place I need to be able to bake. So today I need to bake around the beer and make a lasagne for tea and possibly the start of a cheesecake. I forgot the cream so I'll get some when I get the boys and I'll post the recipie for Stripes who asked ages ago.
