Oh dear, what a worry. Could you get her to agree to be tested for Alzheimers? As if she has it, there is a lot of support. I know because a friend is going through a similar experience - but the mum refuses to go to the doctors and the docs can't do anything without the person's consent. I hope the situation resolves itself one way or the other soon as it must be very stressful living with that going on in the background of your thoughts all the time.

Don't know much about Dementia however I think its probably true that families struggle to get a diagnosis due to the 'ill' person no recognising/believing they are ill and they then must become stubborn/scared which causes further problems and so on and also I am sure even the most patient of OH's would struggle to cope on a daily basis so if your mums husband had 'issues' before this then they are going to be exaggerated now I suppose.

Having said all the obvious above I wondered if you could contact http://www.alzheimers-dementia.org.uk/ as they must have experience of your families types of issues and may be able to offer you some subtle confidetial advice?

Good luck its not a nice predicament to find your family in.

Hope things have improved with OH too, Im on that road at the mo, very difficult and whatever I say doesnt seem to be the right thing! Doesnt help that he has no work to go to at the mo, hopefully things will improve for us. thinking of you

No further forward with the mum situation, waiting for it to come to a head. Had a busy old week. Ds1 back at the dental hospital and thought he was going to get discharged but he needs another appointment and then possibly. He went lamping last night and got 27 bunnies, he's away beating today.

DD2 had to be collected from school yesterday afternoon she wasn't very well and I was suprised she lasted as long as she did. She's gutted as she was supposed to be going ice skating with her friend today but I thought it best she didn't go. I let them go swimming this morning as they had a free session on. Whilst they were swimming I went to a friends farm and helped her take soil samples.

Feel like I've been dropped on from a great height with regards to work. The boss likes to keep us in the dark with regards to how the company is expanding. It drives me nuts as I sound stupid on the phone saying what site and its another new one being brought on board and I haven't a clue. Anyway the other lady who started at the same time as me and only works 2 days is leaving. She told the boss at the beginning of December and we found out about 2 weeks ago and thats because she told us. I found out this week that I'm going to be taking over most of her work, even though I've been given loads of extra stuff. She has got 2 more days in before she leaves. Her job is really crappy so not looking forward to that. However I do feel an increase in wages is going to be called for.

Managed to shove the hoover round, get some washing on the airer and made some soup for dinner. Got the local paper as its property !!!!!! day but nothing floats my boat. Feeling a bit down at the mo but I'm sure I'll bounce back.

Sorry to hear that you're feeling a bit down..hope it doesn't last too long.
The boss sounds a bit cheeky not keeping you all involved as to what's going on especially as it effects your quality of work and your time.
    hope dd gets better soon.

Hopefully it will, as you say, come to a head soon and then resolution will quickly follow, until then hang in there!

I really enjoy my job and I've recognised that I like to be needed, me thinks I therefore must be a needy person ...phew glad I've got that sorted. Its just this secret squirrel business that is annoying, Its not as if I'm going to go out and pinch the site from under his snozzle is it? I like my boss he is approachable its just I hate talking about dosh and I'm not very good at blowing my own trumpet. Going to have to adopt the stiff upper lip and all that.
