No they only have a 12 month guarantee. I've phoned hotpoint, they'll charge a one off fee of £100 or I can take out a monthly payment of £16 and I'm not sure if thats per item. Nearly had another aaaaagh moment. I've put som ham to cook in the slo cooker and when I switched it on it didn't work, I nearly started to cry, however on closer inspection I hadn't plugged it in properly! Its funny how these things can really get you as I honestly could cry at the drop of a hat. I'm going to try and work through it and be productice instead of wallowing in self pity, which to be honest is what I want to do. Then I'll go back to work and think I could've done this or that. Trouble is DD2 is coming back from camp and I know she's going to have another load or 2 of washing.

Right I'm going to go and bake some scones and no doubt another week of weight gain at fat club. Maybe should start some positive thinking as I feel I'm in a downward spiral. At times like this I want to run for cover and carry on hating the world. Obviously not in a good place at the mo.

    Step away from the scones....................

Could you take out the monthly payment, get the stuff fixed and then cancel the payment?

    Hi L,
Sorry to hear about the appliances.

Although manufacturers say they only give 1 year guarantee they in fact have to give 2 on electrical appliances by EU law. Not sure if it's just major appliances but certainly d/w w/m f/f. If you're within 2 years phone up and argue the toss. You'll need to google the rule so you can quote it and sound authoritative perhaps. I did this with a f/f but had to insist on being passed up the chain of command as the peeps who take most calls don't know/aren't informed by management about it.

Managed to lose 1.5lbs. I'm so chuffed as I was getting disheartened. Must go riding more often.

A freidn has done a couple of loads of washing. At least DD2 has got bedding to go on her bed and I've got some ironing. Have got an engineer coming tomorrow which makes working a bit difficult. OH is off but he's got a hospital appointment first thing. I'm staying at home until he gets back then going in.

Have confirmed with vendors that our final offer still stands. No news from them.

Going to make a turkey mince bolognaisey type thing for tea. Just going to make it up as I go along.
