Poor you lucielle, hope your cold doesn't drag on too long.
That after-school schedule looks punishing. I feel for you! Ours is similarly busy but with the advantage that most things are walkable distance. My children do athletics too, and are often in races all over the county at weekends, luckily we can share those lifts with other families.
I sympathise with the ski holiday costs as well. We have just had a £110 school trip in November sprung on us - it was going to be in May and they changed the date. Also £32 for DDs 1&2 to do Duke of Edinburgh's Award. And DD3 will be offered a ski holiday for around £700 next year, which I would love to send her on. I don't think schools have the faintest idea how much difficulty they cause us with all these trips.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Your schedule is making me feel tired! Is there anyway to give yourself a bit of a break by sharing lifts with other parents who live near you to cut down on your driving/petrol/exhaustion? It's your turn to sound a bit down and fed up today Lucielle-there's a nasty cold and cough going around-I've got it at the moment courtesy of DS and it made me feel a bit down. I hope you are relaxing in a nice bath now (when I first typed that I put relaxing in a nice bar-freudian slip!) and that you take care of yourself. Make sure you don't neglect yourself or your helath. Mum's always put themselves last but sometimes you need some TLC! Thanks chaps, out of bath feeling slightly better and consoled myself with paracetamol. Going to go ant attack my eyebrows before they become a mono brow!
Some lifts are shared but it is still a chore. Also forgot to mention that DS1 wants to go away on the scout camping trip £35.50, theatre £2, DD2 school archaeological dig £2.50, school ballet trip £10 and I have got cub and scout subs to pay £62. Do you think my kidney would sell on ebay?
How was the pie Beckseven?

HI Lucielle
The AS routine looks hard work. Ours is very similar and it can be gruelling even when lifts are shared!
School trips at secondary school are pricey as well. My DD has got two which if she gets chosen for both will cost nearly £1k.
Hope you are feeling better and feeling positive:cool:Working Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -
As I currently fork out £543 on nursery fees a month on my two year old I thought that I would be loaded when I had to stop paying for childcare. Looks like i was wrong and that things are going to get even more expensive! i am going to make the pie on Saturday-can't wait!HSBC Visa-High interest-£2349.23 Nat West £2605.18

Well OH has been called out (more overtime) so I have had to get my sorry butt up and out of bed and dressed, as I will have to do the scout run. Just shared a roast beef dinner with DS1, who had already had tea but 'helped' me out. Just discovered I have used the last tea bag so will have to scrape some pennies together and get some.
Decided to use Avon money to pay for the children' s activities. I try not to touch this but I feel that things are getting out of hand money wise and I am aware of Christmas rearing its head. Also when the weather does come bad my livery fees will go up. Work is erratic to say the least and doesn't look as if it will be regular.
I am considering just doing minimum payments until after Christmas, but it goes against the grain. I really need to talk to OH.
