It was amazingly nice. My sister gave me the recipe and she said it was a bit bland. So I whacked in some curry powder and served it with pasta and sweetcorn.

Hi Luc, just having a catch up. Glad the horses are doing well, I practically have to shoe horn mine through the gate at the minute - I swear she would be quite happy as a house horse curled up in front of the fire if she could!
Hope your DD is ok after her friend leaving and a massive well done to your nephew on his GCSE results.
I consider myself a marshmellow rather than an apple - soft and squidgy all the way round! x xPay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000

Hmmm yummy pork - just wanted to say - inspired by your good self (and others) have phoned a friend 'sooth' and asked her to go into local Asda (where she works so not such a hardship) and see if she can grab me one of those £7 slow cookers (they don't have them online and delivery up here is almost a tenner) - will hear tomorrow if her mission has been successful. I think I heard it here, or was it in the newsletter which I am making sure I read. I also ordered a couple of copies of Beedle the Bard from Mr T for 50p (thanks MSE newsletter!) and have been investigating the 95p store - just emailed them to see how much they charge for deliveries here - otherwise might get the stuff sent to OH if I order anything.
Its only a 3.5 ltr one but at £7 its a start and I can see how I get on with it - I am the worlds worst for gadgets which sit there looking at me wondering if they are on holiday a I hardly ever use them
Trying a mother hubbard experience myself this next week or so - or maybe even til the holidays 9th Oct - as we have far too much food in freezer and I want to go south with kids to Edinburgh - if I dont spend the money on food - it will pay for a ferry trip so that would save (well reassign) some money

Had a phone call from school DS2 has been fighting. Completely out of character but he has been grounded and had to ring his friend and tell him he could n't come for a sleep over. Apparently OH was talking to his friends mum who told him she had had problems with the same child picking on her son.
£210 paid off the debt today. I feel like we are treading water at the moment. I want to break throug the next thousand pound mark but it keeps balancing around the same figure. Note to self, don't spend any money on the cards then. Noted.
Just been out for a ride. Boys were a bit spooky as some cows were in the shed and of course they will eat you if you go anywhere near them! Rescued a pheasant last night that had been hit by a car but not killed outright. Gave it to my friend to nurse back to good health, to release and then get shot. Unfortunately it coraked (or is that cheeped) whilst I was visiting. Wonder if Fay wants it for her freezer?

Sorry about DS fighting - boys will be boys, but it is no fun if there is any bullying involved.
I hope you manage to have a good weekend, with not to much sulking due to the lack of the sleepover!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
No DS took it on the chin so to speak and made the phone call. I know every parent is bias but I do feel he must've been really provoked and had to stick up for himself. DD1 wasn't around to verify the facts as she is usually pretty reliable and sees things from both sides.
Just been having a nostalgic trip on you tube with DD1 watching all the pop videos from when I was young. She quite likes Shakespeares sisters Stay and we have been warbling that all evening. Also had to show her Bros which I can say I was not a fan of but give me AHA (preferably just Morten Haarket up a dark alley and my life could've been sooooo different) any day. I used to wear the leather bits on my wrists and woe betide any teacher who attempted to get me to part company with them!

Ah boys dont you just love em. My DS1 13 is exactly like that, would be the last one to be fighting but you know he must have been provoked into it. I suppose everyone has their own breaking point and good for him for sticking up for himself at least he got it out of his system IYKWIM. The bully wont pick on him again anyway.;)
Shame about the pheasant too we have loads of them around at the mo. Watched that programme on Sky about the guy who only eats roadkill lives on bodmin moor, he'd love it and stash it in the freezer no prob:rotfl:
