if you must know!!
A little on the floor which came up quite easily (laminated floor).. a little on a cheap rug which was bought from next, but they decided to chuck the rug as it wasn't worth the hassle on the day... and some on the kids clothes... that clear things up?!
God, was only asking for some advice.. didnt think i'd get called a liar and accused of fraud!
I'll let mates know and apologies for causing a bit of an uproar in your otherwise dull days!
Nobody called you a liar or accused you of fraud. How could they. It was your "Friends" who had the problem or so we were lead to believe. Your opening statement was "ok, now I can see why they don't want to pay up... but bear with me!" so surprise, surprise nobody disagreed with you.0 -

The intent of the post was to ask for advice from anyone who has had a similar situation... not for wise cracks from know-it-alls who have nothing better to do.
someone asks for further info, i give it them and I'm told it's obviously fraudulent...I say it genuinely happened and I'm told I protest too much! All I was trying to do was help out a close friend and I had no other intention, apologies if my rather hastily typed messages appeared that way, but I don't see how they could have been... perhaps you should read them again (and try reading it from a writers point of view???)
Please, if you have nothing to add please take your stubby fingers off your keyboard and back onto your mouse, press the back button on your browser and go back to ebay, there'll be another load of over-sized underwear ending soon.
I believe that what happened actually happened. The couple are not short of money and all i wanted was advice from this "community" which has helped me so much previously. Obviously this is not to be the case in a situation like this.
No doubt someone will come back with various useless comments... blah blah blah... but i feel i have got all I can get from this, so I doubt I will check it again, please don't expect a response after this post.
I shall pass the useful comments on, the other comments shall be ignored.
Happy bidding to all the ebayers.Hating Hastings Direct!0 -
Does your friends's insurance company use software to detect whether people who claim are telling the truth? If so, he could ask to be tested about what happened via a telephone test. It'll show up that the claim is genuine and he should have no further problems getting compensation. Worth a try anyhow." The greatest wealth is to live content with little."

I'm not sure.. it's legal and general.. they've since cancelled all their policies with them having held policies for quite a while.
I do think that eventually they will get something when they do the whole court route (like i said, not short of a bob or 2) as they see it as the principal of having an accidental damage policy and then refused a claim for accidental damage.
thanks for replying

There is no WAY I would pass one of these. My husband is reluctant to walk with me through the 'Green' customs channel even when entirely innocent. As for my voice...
This claim could very easily sound to an insurance company like an 'orange juice down the back of the TV' case.
However, it could be completely genuine. None of us knows.
If it's true, your friend should fight his case with a clear conscience.
Insurance companies generally wriggle out of paying whenever possible. Very infuriating for those of us with genuine claims.
However, those intent on fraud make it rather expensive for the rest of us.0 -

Are you sure your friends are telling the truth? The more I think about it, the more 'staged' it sounds?
Here we go again! :rotfl:
Yet another thread where someone asks for advice and you attempt to twist it all into an elaborate conspiracy theory, based on a few cursory sentences given by the OP, and no other knowledge of the situation.
I've got to hand it to you though, nothing beats your conspiracy theory the other day about the supermarket staff lying to police and maliciously destroying evidence of a criminal assault because they remembered the OP getting a refund in their store 2 years earlier! That was an absolute blinder.

It's all in here:

Note the way she starts backpedalling when it's pointed out quite how daft her conspiracy theory is starting to sound. Most amusing!0
