Buyers strange request. Is she a fraudster?

sometimes one solicitor knows how slowly another solicitor works - and simply prefers to work with some one speedy and efficient0

Ask her to pay your current solicitor and the new one as she got your house cheap and see what she saysLoretta0

Thanks for the input guys.
Apparently the buyer is going to see my agent tomorrow to explain what she's thinking. It seems there is another seller she is trying this with as well. My agent tells me she's already bought several properties through them without any of this nonsense.
I'm praying she'll back down as my financial status is pretty dire and i can't afford to loose another buyer.
I'll let you know what happens.0 -
If you change to solicitor for other party, make sure all your costs are covered.
If you change to solicitor for other party, can I sell you some magic beans?Bankruptcy isn't the worst that can happen to you. The worst that can happen is your forced to live the rest of your life in abject poverty trying to repay the debts.0 -
ok... It seems my buyer is trying to be somewhat "creative" with her financing her purchase and feels my current solicitor wouldn't get it hence her suggesting one she knew would. Quite what she's doing, I don't know.
What we agreed was that my solicitor will speak to her solicitor in legalese. If he's happy with it then we're golden. If he doesn't like it then we'll pull out.0 -
Creative? Anything fraudulent that you end up knowing about could cost you dear.0

I wouldn't go near it with a bargepole. You get enough sleepless nights selling/buying a house without the worry of wether you were unwittingly a party to something illegal.
Stick with your own solicitor, she won't back out of the sale.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.
