Are my bank getting even?
I have a student/graduate account with an interest free overdraft on it. With me not using the overdraft I put it in an ISA for a few years. I haven't used the account for anything else and I've made every effort to avoid paying it off early. My interest free overdraft is being reduced on the 10th July and the only effort…

7% interest?
I have no debt apart from the mortgage, which is happily nearing it's end. I want to get every last penny I can out of these naughty old banks. Currently I use a Morgan Stanley credit card, always pay it off in full by dd and am looking forward to my cashback cheque of about £50 next month. In the meantime my money stays…

Stoozing and buying Premium Bonds results ?
Hi there, Just curious if any mse'ers who purchased Premium Bonds with their stoozing efforts have had any success with winnings at all ? Are your winnings beating potential saving account or other gains etc...? With how much and how long have you been doing it? Basically I'm thinking of winding down my stoozing efforts by…

End of Stooze-as-you-spend question
My Halifax charity card 0% ends on 14th July. My next DD goes out on the 10th July and I have phoned and changed it from minimum to full balance. Will this ensure that I pay no interest? (to explain: what I am worried about is the spending since the statement (dated around June 10th), do I need to settle the statement…

Stupid question
0% Citi purchases card, minimum payment date is 12th July. End of offer is 31st July. Fine with making the payment by the 12th. But do I have to pay off the rest by the 31st, or will next payment date in August be OK? Thanks

Lloyds TSB and 2% uncapped
Wanting to get into stoozing. Accepted for an Egg money card. Already have a Lloyds TSB Platinum card (just swapped from Create which I had for cashback) but Lloyds TSB have 9 months at 0% but an uncapped BT fee of 2%. If I wanted a Stooz pot of £5000 this would be £100. As I'm a higher rate tax payer there is no way of…

I think my time is up with credit cards now
I think I must have seriously damaged my credit rating by stoozing. I had 3 stoozing cards at one time with £5000 on each. I paid one off 2-3 months ago because I was turned down twice for the next card. The first refusal was from the Post Office Card, then two months later i was turned down for the charitycard (HBOS) I…

When can you justify paying the charge for a balance transfer?
Looking for some advice from some one better at maths than I am;) Ive been slow stoozing for the past year and have built up £6,000 in my little stooze pot. The two cards I am using at the moment both come to the end of their 0% on purchases in October and on reflection I now realise I should have staggered the cards so…

Valuing a Credit Search
How much do experienced Stoozers value one credit search? I just did an A&L loan for an 80 quid referral bonus - worth it compared to a stooze card? How about mobile phone contracts - I have done 12 month free line rental by cashback and a handset ebayed for net 150. Do Mobile searches count as badly as other credit…

Egg money and charity card
I applied for a charity card last night after getting my Egg money card. During the sign up process I had to tell them my Egg credit limit which is £3800 but the limit on the new card I got is £6800. So now I’d like to get the full £6800 but does anyone know if they will notice if I try to make a balance transfer of £6800…

Amex Platinum - unlimited balance xfer FEE!
Just thought I would give a heads up on this one. I got a letter this morning to say that the terms on this card have now changed. Basically, they have removed the £40 cap which was previously in place for balance transfers, it’s now 2% unlimited. It does not affect me, but I know that many people consider this card for…

New Virgin credit card
Hi there guys! I've just got my new virgin credit card with a credit limit of £ 5000. Has anyone try to request an increase in credit limit when you activate your card? Can I request to BT directly to my current account or will it be better to use cheques? ( still awaiting for them to arrive by post). I have read the T & C…

Egg anniversary offer
I notice that Egg (green) have introduced a handling fee for balance transfers for new customers. I signed up in 2005 and have had 2 interest free - handling fee free- periods. I think that the offer was guaranteed until 2007 when I signed up, so I can get at least one more intrest free transfer period. My question is,…

New to Stoozing
I understand the general concept of stoozing, but how do you get your credit limit, say £5,000 into a savings account? The only way I know is to draw it out of the bank using a pin number and racking up a load of charges? Is there a phone call I would have to make to the credit card company?

£9k to Balance Transfer - Best Option
I want to transfer £9k from a Sainsburys Credit card at the start of August. Whats my best option. Was thinking of taking out a Post Office card as its no fees and although not massively long 0% period (6 months) its not bad. Just worried that wont offer high enough credit limit, and then I will need to go for another card…

Best Way To Raise Capital For Investment
Hi, Myself and my partner would like to "escape the rat race" in the long term by getting into something which will allow our money (what there is of it at the moment!) to work for us rather than the other way round. Our initial idea is to get into property development however at this stage we are still "researching" and…
