sorry if silly question
I have been tracing my pensions. My civil service pension comes out at @£5000 from 60,another as @£2000 from 65. Today,I got my estimate of £101 pw for the state pension. Do I get this as well as the other two? Hope so as £12000 pa pension should be enough and 15 years to build up more.

AVC into a SIPP?
Is there a cheap way to transfer my AVC pension fund into a SIPP? I was quoted £400+ by Hargreaves Lansdowne. This seems a bit excessive on a fund worth about £1900. If you're wondering, I am naive enough to think that I can better invest the money than Equitable Life ;) .

Pensions and Children
Thinking of starting a pension for my daughter who is 2 (can't start too early I've heard), but is it really wise? I know we may have uni fees etc. (hopefully!) but I don't want her getting a lump sum at 18/21 to help pay these only for her to arrive home in a brand new car..... So, what sort should I look at, obviously I…

Changes affecting contracting out...
Adrian Boulding - Pensions Strategy Director at Legal & General: According to this gentleman on BBC's Moneybox programme this morning, the contracted-out rebate will, after 2006, be just like the rest of your pension fund and can be partially commuted to a 25% lump and whatever pension the rest will buy.. He also said that…

Start pension or finish paying debt
This is a simple question, but unfortunately I've not yet found a straightforward answer: Is it better to pay off debts before starting to pay into a pension? I know that pension contributions have tax relief, but this is tax relief that I'm not going to access until I'm retired (I'm currently 28). Whereas I have to pay…

Can this be right? :o I have a small teacher's pension (I took…
