"Managed Loan"
Hi guys, Following being turned down for a normal loan by HSBC they then offered me the chance to apply for what they called a 'Managed Loan' - when I asked what this meant all they told me was that the interest rate was basically higher! Does anyone know anything about this and what it actually involves? Cheers James

Replacement windows
I purchased replacement windows two years ago. I had to take out the finance at the time, but am now in a position to repay the loan. The salesman at the time told me that I can make interim payments as and when I could so reducing the final cost. He also said if I was to pay off the whole debt excluding the last payment…

PLEASE Help Rid Us Of Our Little Ball & Chain!
Hi all. I'm looking for your thoughts on a rather sticky mess my husband and I are now in following some rather dodgy (in my opinion) advice our IFA gave us a year ago. My husband and I have a 100% interest only mortgage - it was all we could get at the time to launch onto the property ladder and was certainly not our…

A&L loan interest - not what they advertise
Applied for an A&L loan today at 5.9% as on the internet. What a performance. FIrst they insist I take out the PPI ( I suppose you could argue that they want to protect their money but £38 a month?). Then they are very happy to offer me 9.6%. Then (after a few words), offer me 7.6%. Then when I tell them I am putting all…

Cancelling PPI?
In a bid to save a bit of money I am considering cancelling my PPI on my Natwest Loan. Currently I pay out £208.95 and I know that if I cancel the PPI it would take the payments down to around £174. The Loan should be finished in 2010. Would it be too risky to cancel the PPI?

Convert overdraft facility to Loan / Credit Card
After purchasing a new car recently, and after finally shifting some funds around from various places, I have a balance of £6000 currently as an overdraft facility linked to my Woolwich Mortgage rate, at I think 5.9%. I reckon I can pay this off within a year, maybe 18 months if I leave this where it is. I have looked into…

APR of loan not what I wanted - OK to reapply thru another company?
Hiya I applied for a loan with Northern Rock for £15,000, which advertises an APR of 5.8%. I spoke to them today, and i've been accepted, but the APR is 7.9%. This has upped my monthly payments and, obviously, the total amount repayable. My question is this - there are other companies out there that offer similar low APR's…
