Are you on the flat rate scheme for VAT?
Don't assume you're returning to the VAT rate you were on prior to the 17.5%/15%/17.5% changes. I used to pay 9%, this dropped to 8% this year, next year it goes up to 10%. Not best pleased. http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/pbr2009/pbrn33.htm
