The Top Fixed Interest Savings Discussion Area
I'm interested in people's thoughts and recommendations for the best fixed interest accounts. With BOE interests rates recently starting to increase we have to consider the desirability of long term fixed interest savings. Since withdrawals are usually not permitted before the end of the fixed period, such general interest…

One Account Interest Rate
We've had our mortgage in a One Account since early 2000's, possibly since they first came out. Spending much less in lockdowns over the last couple of years has meant we went into credit for the first time last year, so we have effectively paid off our mortgage early. As we could effectively 'borrow' any mount up to our…

Investec Online Flexi Savings account - Existing customers
Just wondered what people thought about Investec asking existing customers for Id when opening the Online Flexi Savings account. I have been able to open the new account without issues although I wasn't happy at having to providing ID as I've banked with Investec for many years but they refused to open one for my mother,…

Accidental Acc instead of Inc purchase...
Guys, I've just purchased acc units instead of inc units in my GIA for a particular fund. I prefer keeping to all INC units to make a tax return simpler.. As I see it I have two options: 1. Sell and repurchase as soon as it's settled 2. Sell and don't repurchase till after 30 days Any views on what's the best course of…

Vanguard ESG accumulation fund- compounding?
Hi all. I'm struggling with what is probably a very basic question. A year ago I opened an 'ESG Developed World All Cap Equity Index Fund' with Vanguard. I chose the accumulation option. I thought that this index fund would receive compound interest which would start to grow my fund even more, but I'm not sure if I have…

Save into current pension pot or elsewhere?
I'm currently 57 with 3 personal pensions due to start paying out at age 60. None of them have been paid into for over 12 or so years but I now have about £50 a month to save. Am I better paying that into one of the pensions I have, or pay into an ISA or higher interest savings account?

BoE vote interest rate hike to 0.5%
Majority vote of 5-4, interestingly the 4 that voted against the 0.25% hike had actually voted for a ‘double’ 0.50% hike rather than against raising them at all. Hopefully we’ll see savings accounts raising their interest rates on the back of this.

What is the best place to see trades bought and sold of funds and shares and news?
I'd like to view the trades that have been made for a share, bought and sold in a day or the last few hours but I haven't been able to find something that's easy to understand. On the LSE site I could see trading volumes for some shares but it was a limited amount and I couldn't tell if they were buys or sells. For news on…

Claro App
Hi Chaps I cannot see that anyone has posted about this, hence my post. If you go to Claromoney, (sorry cannot post a link as i am a newbie). The app pays 2% on £3000 and it appears to be covered by the FSCS. Not sure what the 'rub' is here. Maybe they have commission from recommending certain investment vehicles? Your…

Where To Invest For Monthly Income
I have approx £170,000 that I would like to invest somewhere with lowish risk to maximise monthly income. UBL UK offers a fixed term deposit account that would pay 1.85% % if I tied the money up for 3 years. Would anyone else be able to offer a better monthly income on this money? I was thinking of getting advice from…
