best way to Selling Paper shares on high-street

hi ive a few thousand pounds in paper shares and was looking to sell
preferably on high street for speed where is best or is there somewhere
online/etc that i can send/sell the shares that's better/cheaper?

    X-O.co.uk have been recommended before, and you can transfer the certificates to  them.

    I doubt you'll find anywhere that will do it quicker or cheaper than X-O (part of Jarvis Investment Management).  Once you've got a free account set up, it should not take more than a week to send the certificates, transfer into their nominee account, give the sell instruction and wait for settlement, then withdraw the funds to your bank account.  Two years ago, I managed that process (excluding the withdrawal) in four days!  The cost should be no more that the postal charge (use Royal Mail's next day Signed-For service) and X-O's selling fee.
