£50k - For 5 to 8 years?
I have my long term (15-20 years) growth funds in isas and sipps sorted out. I can forget about these and I don't mind any volatility. This leaves £70k in the bank earning very little interest. My mortgage will be paid off soon, and my outgoings are tiny, so I really only need £20k in instant access accounts. But I don't…

why are the banks giving freebies?
Wonder why the banks have decided to go down the 'go with us for free cash' route. there are several at the moment- virgin money, hsbc, first direct. I remember a few years ago this sort of thing was all the rage, then it died out. maybe it just takes one to do something and the others follow suit.

Halifax £36 hike?
Had an email outlining a new charge of £36 a year for holding a Halifax sharebuilder account, i only like to trade occasionally and like to leave them in drip schemes mainly. I think i prefer the old days of share certificates if they are gonna slap annual charges on like this. Anyone planning to switch and if so where too?

Blackrock's MyMap Funds
Looking into the MyMap funds as an alternative to Vanguard LifeStrategy and HSBC Global Strategy. I notice on MyMap's KIID that it states the following: You can buy and sell your units daily. The minimum initial investment for this unit class is £100,000. Surely the amount of £100k can't be right?
