Cable and Wireless share split

I am attempting to calculate a share loss on the above equity some of which I've held as early as 1989. I know there was a share split in the 1990's being two new for one old but not having any share certificates is making it tricky. I'm trying to ascertain the date of this split. 
Note:  this is the original CW. company and pre-dates the demerger of 2010 into Cable and Wireless Communications and Cable and Wireless Wordwide.
I've done a lot of googling with no joy.
A long shot I know...but maybe there's a fellow ex CW shareholder on here?

Watching C&W over years (from early 1990s in my case) was like watching the fall of the British Empire in miniature. From mahogany panelled boardrooms, heavy framed oil paintings, long, expensive lunches and top end private 'hotel' accomodation for employees transiting far-flung overseas postings, through backward looking management, through to being broken up and sold off.
