The companies are not honoring the withdrawal requests…

Jarvis share deal active
Can anyone please tell me their experience of Jarvis' share deal active site, in terms of the breadth of funds offered, service, website etc? Their ISA charge is £50pa and SIPP is free (£99pa refunded) which sounds great as I plan my move away from HL.

London Capital
Whats peoples thoughts on this, not linked to markets & 'guaranteed' 8% they say the capital is secured as follows: As an investor you would have a charge over the assets by way of a legal vehicle known as a debenture. This means that all investors will have a charge over the secured assets which include the cash reserves…

Active Multi Asset Funds - Baillie Gifford Managed Fund a good option?
I really like the look of the Baillie Gifford Managed B fund. It has 74% equities yet has almost the same 5 years returns as the VLS80, and the fund has been going since 1987 averaging 8.2% annually since then, which seems very good to me. The OCF of 0.44% is very low for an active multi asset fund. There is quite a lot of…

Capital Gains
Hi all, Need some help. I've just sold some shares I had from some matured employee sharesave schemes. The gain I've made on these is less than the £11300 capital gains tax free allowance. Therefore I don't believe I have any tax to pay on the sale of these shares, but please correct me if I'm wrong. Also, for purposes of…

Are IFAs using Nucleus platform "independent"?
Hi all, I contacted an IFA a couple of years ago for advice on investing ~£120k. He advised putting my money into the funds on the Nucleus platform (in ISA-wrapped accounts where appropriate). I believe that Nucleus offer a range of Morningstar portfolios according to one's risk/reward preferences, and they switch my…

I had a fixed rate bond with Chelsea which matured end of Nov but taking into account the BOE rise I thought I would wait a while to see if the put fixed rates up before reinvesting but to my astonishment they have put them down! Yorkshire BS who owns them have done the same. before the rate rise both Chelsea and YBS were…

Birmingham Midshires warning
After using my favourite money site (no not moneysupermarch!, this one! [oo I wonder if it is actually called that in France] ) I opted to open an account with Birmingham Midshires to stick my savings in as my Virgin ISA interest rate just fell off the edge of a cliff. Ok I was a bit late in getting round to it but it has…

Mainly Passive ETF portfolio
I have been investing for eight years using mainly actively managed funds. I am transfering a pension into a SIPP in the next few weeks and have decided to take a different approach with the new money. I will use mainly passive ETFs. I made the decision to split the funds over different countries/regions rather than use a…

Pensions and LISA
I'm after a bit of advice or guidance about savings and investments. I have seen IFA in the past but I've not been terribly impressed. They all seem to want to sell my life insurance even though I am single with no dependents and one was trying to sell me a service that looked very much like YNAB for £75 a month. I used to…

Another fund platform question...sorry!
Hi So, retirement lump sum in the bank and I'm ready to take the plunge into investments. The plan is to invest 2 x £15K in two S&S shares ISAs for myself and my wife before Xmas and then squirrel away £500 pm across the same ISAs for the foreseeable future, planning to leave well alone for the next 10 years. (I've also…

Investec not on comparison sites
I am looking at 1 year fixed rate savings. Investec at 1.85% looks pretty good but I cannot find them listed on MSE, GoCompare, MoneySupermrket or other sites. Anyone know why? I asked Investec and they couldn’t offer an answer. Could it be because they have a high minimum investment? Thanks for any ideas.
