ISA -v- 5 year fixed rate
Just a quick question before I lock my hard earned £££ away . ISA savings currently sitting at a paltry 0.25% interest. Have applied for Tesco fixed rate 2.35 for five years account . Is there any downfall to doing this fixed rate account instead of ISA - apart from the obvious not being able to access money ??

Not all savings banks and building societies are equal
Have a number of savings accounts and regularly chasing best rates - and MSE website provides valuable info on rates and terms and conditions. However I am wondering if there should also be an index on how good processes and customer service are? Had a painful process with one bank recently when my mother died leaving some…

So, 5% up to…

Metro Bank online application for savings
Has anyone new to Metro Bank recently applied for a savings account online? What was the process like? Was ID completed online or would it always involve a trip to the branch? I guess the fixed term starts when the application was made, rather than when the FTA has been 'activated' once the agreed investment has been made…

I am doing a bit of account housekeeping. I have a savings account with Chelsea and one with YBS. They merged a few years ago, and I was wondering what would happen if they were ever to demutualise.
