Hi
I have a few k (4-5) that I would like to use to buy shares of a certain company and leave it for the next 18-24 months. Given the fees of various platforms which one would be the cheapest to use?

I would use Monevator to find the best broker http://monevator.com/compare-uk-cheapest-online-brokers/. I also wouldn't buy shares but would use funds instead.0

Halifax, then use regular trader to do a one off purchase for £2. No admin or holding fee if outside an ISA.0

Aside from the previous comments 18-24 months isn't a very long time to hold investments, you should normally be looking at 5-10 years. Also companies might need a bit more monitoring to consider any issues - examples would be Provident or Tesco recently.
But I use iWeb and at £5 per trade you can't really get much cheaper.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -
