Santander 123
Thinking about opening this account....I am just unsure whether the two direct debit condition means that interest will only be paid on months that you pay out with these direct debits or is having them just set up on your 123 account enough? Thanks

Do TSB Monthly Saver T&Cs overide cooling off regs?
On Tuesday I decided to look into the TSB Monthly Saver, which is advertised on the TSB online banking site. The info there stated it could only be funded from an external account, but failed to say how this could be started without knowing the new a/c number. The only other route was a link saying 'Apply', so I expected…

I also dont know how to swap or if I will be charged to do so. any advice or opinion welcome.

Government is registered contact for CTF help!
I am trying to open a junior cash isa for my son. This can't be done unless his child trust fund is closed first. I know where his fund is held, but I am not down as his registered contact, the government is. How this happened I do not know. Can anyone give me advice on how I get it changed to my name for contact please?

P2P lending Wellesley &Co.
I've never tried P2P lending, but it sounds rather intriguing and I wondered if anyone had any experience (good or bad) of Wellesley & Co? Apparently they lend on property and have a fund of their own capital which they invest as well as providing a cushion against non payers. They have been doing P2P since November 2013,…

Existing account and 2016 tax free savings allowance
Given the tax free savings allowance coming into effect in April 2016, and assuming my total interest earnt is within the allowance, I'm wondering about existing accounts. If I open a savings account now that matures in 1 year (ie, after April 2016) and pays interest at that point, would I pay tax on some of the interest…

Hi all, I am after some advice as to where I should now save my money given what I already have: Santander - maxed at £20k TSB - maxed at £2k TSB - 5% monthly saver - opened up yesterday and have already saved £250. I still have £500 'spare' and I can't put this in any of the above. I am able to save £1500 per month and…

Changed T&C, can I withdraw without penalty?
Hey All, My Bank, Halifax, has sent me a letter stating the following. My question is, if they are changing the terms to terms that I do not agree with, can I close the account without the penalty charge of an early closure? They are forcing the change of terms, I don't wish to continue on these new terms, I don't feel I…

Cheapest way to 'invest' £10k into Euros. Not trading.
I have £10k that I want to invest in Euros. I won't be trading per se. Will simply convert back if and when the exchange rate tips back in the Euros favour. I won't be spending it on holidays etc. Purely speculating. What's going to be the cheapest way of doing this, taking into account spread, charges, rates etc? (I know…

Funds - bundled to clean. TER?
Hi, Letter from Fidelity arrived today detailing my bundled funds will be converted to clean funds. Bit of a wake up call for me to transfer the funds from Fidelity. Just been comparing costs between Cavendish 0.25% and AjBell 0.2% (additional charges to sell). What has confused me is Total Expense Ratio (TER) & Fund…

What is the tax on vanguard dividend income
Does anyone know what the effective tax rate is (for a higher rate taxpayer in the UK) on Vanguard dividend income? I was just wondering if I end up paying a higher rate of tax than the effective 25% on UK dividend income, due to the different rules for taxing foreign dividend income.

BM Savings - deposit and linked account
Application mentions the need for a current account with a cheque book as the first deposit must be made by cheque for ID verification. Is this really the case? First time I've ever seen such a requirement. Can there be multiple linked accounts or only one? How easy is it to change the linked account? (Does it need writing…

China
Am interested to know people's thoughts on china funds. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-07-03/china-makes-index-future-speculation-more-costly-as-stocks-dip i'm sure most have been following their history setting fall over the last 3 weeks or so.
