Halifax ISA Upgrade
I current have the Instant ISA Saver with Halifax which pays a paltry 0.25% interest. I have about £14,000 in this account but have seen on the Halifax Website that I can upgrade to the Online ISA with a slightly better 1.0% (and 0.80% 12 month bonus). As the Tax year is almost ended, i'm just wondering as to whether I…

CTF ponderings - ISA / S&S ISA etc
Come 6th April I'm wondering about switching my daughter's CTF to a cash ISA or S&S ISA. DD will be 8 1/2 years old, so I think less than 10 years to run on junior ISA products. (Although a few do seem to go on later - Halifax cash JISA for instance). Because of the relatively limited time period, do you think it would be…

Halifax S&S/Cavendish?
Hi All, I have an amount of funds (around £2.6k) built up in a Halifax S&S ISA from a few years ago. I haven't contributed to this in a while. I am in the fortunate position of being able to contribute something towards this again around (£100pm) to spread the risk across the year. However, I noticed the Halifax charges to…

interest tax returns
Greetings, I have a question about interest tax returns -- I am 34 years old and have been unemployed with an income of lower than £5000 per year due to health reasons since May 2010. For past 5 years, I still have been paying interest tax (20% rate) as ordinary tax payer. Recently I learnt I would be able to make a claim…

Al Rayam Bank Notice cash ISA
I found this cash ISA on MoneySupermarket.com offering 2% variable rate on anything from £250 to no upper limit with 120 day withdrawal notice. It accepts transfers from old ISA's and can be operated on line. I thought this sounded a reasonable deal for money which I am happy to leave for 120 days notice but have never…

Nationwide Regular Saver Withdrawal
As I've recently become eligible for the NS&I 65+ Bonds:o, I have some headroom in my 3% accounts. I plan to withdraw all but a few £s from My Nationwide Regular Saver. exploiting the chump bump
Suppose many people rush to withdraw cash from their pensions to buy property - BTL, cottage by the sea, whatever. Presumably there will be a peak in property prices. How could I invest to do well out of that? It has to be flexible so that I can get out before the bubble bursts.
