i have 10k i want to invest for my son,
happy to invest for 10 years without touching it
would like low risk
would like best return options on the 10k over 10 years

Who provided the capital? If you/your spouse be aware of the "£100 rule".

This does not apply to CTF/JISA but you are limited to the yearly subscription limit.

CTF should be transferable to the more flexible JISA at some point after 6 April.

You could consider regarding your own ISA as "earmarked" for your child but the money remains yours and would be taken into account if you needed means tested benefits.

Over ten years, you might wish to consider a stock market based saving plan for at least some of the money.
