How the share market works?
So I've been trading as a very, very minor hobby for a few years, with only money I feel I can afford to lose. It really isn't much. First trade was BP taking advantage of their oil mishap then Arm Holdings back when they were only £3.50. Anyway. Several years on I've put more money in, now adding up to about £5000. I…

I'm curious if anybody here has ever done equity crowdfunding, and if so what you think of it? My partner is a journalist and she recently interviewed a chap who was very enthusiastically raving about equity crowdfunding, and she came back very excited about it! This is the company that she was interviewing and they have a…

How often are indices updated for recent IPOs? (FTSE...)
Virgin Money have gone through their IPO and are now available for trading. However, at what point are the FTSE indices rebalanced and new companies added if they are large enough? It seems quite a simple and easy question, but I cannot find the answer anywhere.

Gifting money to a child (not my own)
I would like to give money for Christmas to my two nephews, both young children, for them to have access to at, say, 18.
