Hi folks, I keep reading that banks have given themselves the right to swipe money from our savings accounts should they feel the need. See: It Can Happen Here: The Confiscation Scheme Planned for US and UK Depositors Posted on March 28, 2013 by Ellen Brown (google Ellen Brown for more) Confiscating the customer deposits…

Exchange Traded Funds
Does anyone here hold any ETFs? What ones do you hold and for what purpose? For example FTSE 100 All Share ETF? MacQuarie Global Infrastructure ETF? Am I right in thinking that these are collective funds such as IPHI but the main difference is the value is "live" on the stock exchange not updated at the end of the day?…

Worth talking to an IFA?
I want to invest around £80k for the medium to long term (want a steady income in 15 years time). Is it worth talking to an IFA? Is there a way to convert my € to £ with a low commission?
I have several tens of thousands of euro in a Spanish bank which I want to bring to the UK. For logistic, legal and tax reasons, given the amount, I can't just bring them in my suitcase and change them in the postoffice. So I'd have to go with a bank, but in the average high street bank I can lose up to 10% on the exchange…

"Bonds in a bubble" - What does that mean?
Ok so there is a lot of chat about “bonds being in a bubble” and a lot of people are saying they would stay away from bonds. But I am confused.
