SBest short term saving account

Hi All

A little help and advice required, i am sorry if this is covered somewhere else but am new to this.

I have had to free up £50000+ to fund some land purchase of my small farm which will be going through in about two months.

Where is the best short term instant access or very short term fixed term offers?

My bank is offereing 0.5% APR, or leaving it in current account is giving 0.05%.

Have found a new bank called "aldermore" giving 1.5%. and NS+I giving 1.76%.

Any body know about Aldermore bank or got other ideas?

Thanks in advance

paul

A look through posts in the past few weeks will give you the answer, in a nutshell it comes down to how much hassle/swapping you are prepared to do.

The best you can get will be Santander/Lloyds/Nationwide current accounts 3%/3%/5% respectively.

Aldermore are a tip top small new bank, easy to deal with and good customer service. I've been using them for a few years. 1.5% isn't great but the account will probably be quick and easy to set up which is an important consideration if you have a deadline

I will check but i thought santander was 3% up to £20,000 Dont know what i would get for the balance. plus can you open this account and close it down in 2 months, as i have my account else where and can not commit to £500/month.

Will check lloyds as not found that rate.

and i think that nationwide is only for existing customers but will look again.

Yes 20K max but you can ope 3 accounts, also get Cash-back via the likes of Quidco.

Any Lloyds accounts offer a Vantage option.

Nationwide open to all, but max £2.5k but good cash-back available.

You just set up standing Orders to move the same money around.
