Who do you invest with? (not bank savings accounts)
In 5 days time we'll all have another £11K to invest in S&S. Just wondering who do you use as your provider (eg. Fidelity) and what is the majority of your port folio based on? Are you going for aggressive risky investments for high return, or steady, long term investments?

Short term accounts for group purchases - but for a lot of groups
I am thinking of setting something up, one part of which would allow people to pay their part of the overall cost for a larger bill (eg a group booking for a stag do) into an account when they are ready and once everyone has paid the lead can then spend that amount on whatever they were saving for. I'm not worried about…

How much would you pay for IFA advice on fund switches?
After the RDR, financial advisers are generally not being paid trail commission on investments. My fund has now switched to being fee based, rather than commission based. Question is, how much would you say is reasonable to pay for advice on fund switches? I'm currently with Skandia, and they offer a multitude of funds.…

Flexclusive ISA at 4.25% for 6 months or FlexDirect 5% for 12 months?
I really need your advice as I am now totally confused as to the way forward. The OH and I each have the Flexclusive ISA at 4.25% till 31.10.13 then 1.5% above BOE base rate till 01.01.14. I was intending subscribing the 2013/14 ISA allowance to it till at least October. However finding that the new FlexDirect is paying 5%…

Higher risk for £10k what would you do?
Having come into some money and placed most of it 'sensibly' I would also like to invest around £10k in higher risk (but not silly) options but for a maximum timeframe of 1 year. I have read the Tim Hale book as suggested on here to me in the past, found it useful, but find he is best at safe-ish investment advice. The way…

Investec High 5 - breaking notice period
Hello, I have an Investec High 5 (issue 1) account and need to break the 90-day notice period for a house purchase. I thought the penalty was 0.5% of the balance (which would be fine) but can't find any mention of this now on their website. Does anyone here know, or have they done this before?

Best savings scheme for a business?
My Ltd company is building quite a lot of cash that I won't need for some time. The business savings account is giving 0.05% interest - what's the best return on this money (£20k+)? Can I lend to e.g. UK Government (don't want a risky dodgy deal)? Thanks

Help needed: transferring shares from a child to an adult
I am desperately trying to find out how I go about transferring my shares to my own name as my father is dragging his feet. It should have happened when I turned 18, but as I'm now in my 30s I think it has been long enough. The dividends come in with his name then account and my initials. Any help will be much appreciated.

April Fool's Gold
As well as the very sad German Flea Circus story ;) I see on the BBC an interesting article on Gold. How much gold is there in the world Which ever quantity you go for it doesn't amount to much. Does make me wonder if they find gold bearing asteriods what impact it might have (Impact on the price of gold, not the moon…
