Cash deposits

Does anyone know if there is a limit to the amount of cash you can pay into the bank,

    I doubt there is a statutory limit to how much you can pay in (although individual banks might have their own rules) but for the purposes of complying with money laundering regulations, you might well find that the cashier would insist on documentary evidence / an explanation of the source of the money and you might well find that your account was blocked while checks were made?
