Charles Stanley Direct - Any problems?

I've asked before about experiences with Charles Stanley Direct, but this is prompted by problems today.....
Just tried to open an 'advanced' account to open an ISA ..... got all the way through the registration process only to get an error at the end, but no indication of what the error was.... help desk only work 'normal' business hours.
Also on clicking on the 'confirm email address' button in the email they sent me, I get taken to a page which says 'You must be logged in to access the page you have requested'.
Not very confidence inspiring for a web based trading platform!
Anybody got any other experiences good or bad?
